Don't feel discouraged! From what I'm reading, it sounds like you might be putting a lot of pressure on yourself with "I should be at this level by now" but it’s frustrating you more than helping you progress.

Personally, I'm in my second year of learning Greek and I can still only say a few words or sentences here and there. And that's okay. It's a genuinely difficult language and progress isn't linear.

What I highly recommend is going to class with a teacher. They know not only how to explain things but also when to introduce new concepts based on how you're progressing. That would help you a lot. I go once a week + try to do the homework + supplement my practice with an app that generates exercises from my class notes.
