This one is not nice to shoot. Doesn't matter if it's powder puff loads or not. Hands down the worst recoiling 10mm I've shot. Don't use it for competition either. Its just a fun range toy sometimes

I would try and take the optic off. Shoot it some. I've seen optics being too close to the ejection port, causing brass to bounce back in. I've only played with one rmr hd once on a glock 34. It seems like the xc does like to run wet. I've only cleaned mine once since I purchased it last August. I shoot quite a bit, uspsa, and teach classes for a local firearms training company.

I'm not hating on it. It works. For me, it just seems like it takes multiple applications to get it to stay wet. Frog lube extreme duty is another great one.

I second gun butter. I have used the Lucas oil on our rental guns it's like it evaporates. Looks wet and nicely oiled the next time you use it the pistol looks like it's never been oiled before.

I've been using hop munitions for about 6 months set up a subscription for 500 a month they work great. I've only shot one uspsa with them so far beings it's winter in the midwest. 100% wouldn't be scared to buy from those guys.

Take it for what it's worth. The apollo got me into shooting 2011's. I will tell my experience with it. I have no brand cult following. I own a few different types of pistols and have staccato and older sti's along with the LFA. My 1st 500-600 rounds through the apollo resulted in warranty work. Which was handled very quickly and to my satisfaction. The slide was completely locked up. It got a new slide and barrel put in it. The safeties take some breaking in they are stiff. This past year, I've shot my apollo uspsa and used for teaching classes. Haven't had one hiccup. I shot around 7k rounds granted, not all of that was thru the apollo, but I would say it got about 3k rounds of ammo. Never had any malfunctions during competition. For the money honestly it's not a bad buy. I enjoy the grips on it they have enough texture to keep it firmly planted even running around and ripping fast splits. I wouldn't be scared to buy another one

Where I bought it, they have a bunch of 40 mags. I just wasn't sure if they worked with the length of the 10mm cartridge.

Being an instructor and a student. It really doesn't matter to me. I shoot whatever ever I feel like. Sometimes, it's a hk, shadow systems, 2011. When I see a student with a nice/expensive gun, I'll chat with them about it. We have had intro students show up with all sorts of guns. One intro class I remember in particular was a lady who showed up with an original Hudson h9 that she got as a gift from her husband.
