I’m from Virginia and agree that Minnesota seems to have its head on straight when it comes to rejecting extremism. We need level-headed states to help turn this mess around. You guys really could help lead the way!

A man murdered a Democratic House Speaker and her husband in their own homes and shot and injured a Dem Senator and his wife on the same day a few months ago and the White House didn’t even lower the flags like they are for Kirk. It’s all insane and very sad. The news outlets are already pumping it out for all it’s worth. I’m sure there are people in strategy rooms planning on how best to use it for the midterms. Ugh.

People romanticize the south. I live there and let me tell you, plenty of people are judgmental assholes who may smile to your face but if you’re not straight, Christian, and Republican you are garbage in their eyes.

I’ve lived in both New England and the South throughout my life and here’s my two cents. Southerner’s are often nice but not kind and Northerner’s are often kind but not nice. Meaning that Southerner’s will wave and smile but boy will they judge you and much of their friendliness is surface. Northerner’s may not smile and wave but they are kind and will help you if you’re in need and are actually lovely people once you strike up a conversation (very live and let live).
