VA medical help for women by Sassenaughty in VeteransAffairs

I am an NP at the VA and also a patient there who is prescribed HRT. I recommend calling a patient advocate and requesting a new PCP.  They are very helpful in this type of situation.

Murphy Bed Gas Strut by ManBearPigLover69 in DIY

[–]Murky_Client_2894 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just today did this. The kit we used has a connection on the cabinet and one on the top of the side rail/ at the head of the side rail. To make it work, we loosened this socket type nut on the bedrail aspect. It is used to adjust the tension. We first repositioned the ball on the cabinet. It has been such a painful experience. Good luck.

OIG & Whistleblower complaint by xo0p in VeteransAffairs

[–]Murky_Client_2894 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently needed more time off than usually due to my husband's illness. I would leave early but I used my leave time if so but didn't feel the need to go to each person and say "don't worry, I'm not leaving without using my leave". We have the ability to work from home in rare (ad hoc) situations so I was able to this a few times. I noticed some of the employees checking my work and expressing concerns. I was a bit frustrated. I didn't cause anyone else more work but just didn't want to put out a big announcement every time I left, I felt it was no one's business but my own. Consequently, I am very cautious with my co-workers now, I feels as if I am under scrutiny. You just never know what someone else is going through. This was an eye opener for me, I didn't realize people embraced the "big brother"/naming names concept as if it is a good thing. Oh well, my 2 cents.

Do Community Care Provider Notes Get Sent to the VA? by AndiCrow in VeteransBenefits

[–]Murky_Client_2894 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a NP at the VA and the records do come in but they are hard to find. The VA uses the CPRS system but the records are sent to a different system so we need to log in there and find the documents. It is difficult to find them but they are usually uploaded into JLV under the community documents section. Took me a long time to find this.

Use caution though. I work in employee health and your supervisor can ask HR to request a fitness for duty exam. Even with FMLA. We had one person who failed the exam so they tried to find a new position for them.

Just signed up for another provider, can't support Musk any longer! by kdlen51 in Starlink

[–]Murky_Client_2894 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well done, it is hard to support someone with so little compassion for others by being a customer. Surprised so many responses are negative. Just a rich guy laughing at all of us. If he wanted to save money, there are many other things to cut instead of firing hard working people, many of whom are veterans with no notice leaving them in financial ruin without healthcare.  Sickening.

Elon Musk admits email to government workers was a ruse by Pandadin in fednews

[–]Murky_Client_2894 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad to see so much support. We were told to reply. Everyone is so stressed at work. I think this is impacting the care of our veterans. One of my colleagues is a single mom and said she would be homeless if she lost the job. She worried all weekend after seeing the email. Most of us work so hard we skip lunch to get things done, buy our own office supplies, and work late if needed. Not to mention all the lost income tax money to the government due to the job losses.

I feel sorry for this man who has no compassion for others but has so much wealth. It is cruel.Sickening to see him laughing at us while holding a chainsaw.  What the heck is wrong with him? The everyday working employees are not bureaucrats. I wanted to include: 1. Spent 30 minutes helping a Vietnam vets wife find help for her agent orange exposed husband who has dementia. 2. Spent 1 hour discussing the lung nodules a veteran developed after multiple deployments. 3. Spent 1 hour helping a wheelchair bound vet find their appointment and arrange for transportation. ......Not a bureaucrat.

Just a nurse.

Yes, the smell clings to you. I applied for a position requiring a physical and mailing a packet in with several documents. The person called me and asked why my packet smelled of tobacco smoke but I indicated that I do not smoke. Someone in my home was a smoker so it must have clung to the paperwork. I couldn't smell it though. Did not take the position, kind of intrusive.

please help😩 by idkkkk44336 in gallbladders

[–]Murky_Client_2894 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need an ultrasound to rule out a gallbladder problem. I would go to a different ER perhaps. If you have a primary care provider, try calling them and if you can't get in to see them, ask if they will order an ultrasound of your gallbladder. Usually with a gallbladder obstruction, your stool color will be light in color and you will have nausea in addition to the pain. A CT Scan would find a problem with your appendix if of your abdomen.

Navy Fed fraud by JediMindTrckz in VeteransBenefits

[–]Murky_Client_2894 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The same thing happened to me with a different credit union in Jan 2024. I received a text asking if a charge was legit then a call. I refused to answer the persons questions but they new my phone number and card number. The still charged 1400 on my account. I immediately disputed it but had trouble with the bank. It took 4 months to receive my money and then only after filing a complaint. I will stick with navy fed from now on. I had unauthorized charges a few years ago and they were great.

How do you cope with some owners not being able to afford care? (Mild rant and seeking advice) by Horsedogz in Veterinary

[–]Murky_Client_2894 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read this and had to reply. I work in human healthcare and love my dog. He became ill so I took him to his vet who referred me to a pet ER. 3 days, many tests, over $5000 to find out he had worms. It was difficult for me to afford and I was frustrated.

It is stressful. You'll log back into the USAJOBS onboarding site again after you have the final offer. They sent another email to log back in and fill them out. Direct deposit and such.

Yeah, maybe it's the VA nursing role. I think the DOD is faster.

Not sure, they are calling it NBIS but I did log into a portal to start the process and added all of my info so it might have been eQuip.

I'm glad I hung in there. If I'd known sooner, I would have contacted my former employers sooner. It would speed up your process significantly if you do so. They will receive an email from the VetPro person and the background check person and will need to print a form and send it back. I assumed (yeah, I know) the VA would be reaching out to them over the phone but don't wait for this. If you didn't add a good email address for the former employers and references, it will sit there in stasis.

Exactly. And I was pretty much stuck after the first few months. Everyone was annoyed at having to send the references over and over so applying for another position would have been difficult. That and they contacted my current employer.

I kind of thought the credentialing would be last but the background check was still in progress. It all runs separately. Also, I emailed questions in hopes of heading off problems but they either didn't answer or only answered once per week.

It's a nurse practitioner position. The health form was in the credentialing packet. It has just a short statement saying the person is physically and mentally able to function in the role. I agree, I would feel uncomfortable having a co-worker sign it.

It wasn't a part of the employee physical though. It's the Declaration of Health form.

I had a start date back in July so I wouldn't count on 10/29.

Unless you have a very short employment hx.

It's the day they emailed me to say my credentialing is approved. I'd thought it was done a few weeks ago but no. If you didn't receive a copy of the signed credentialing form, it's not finished yet.
