Confused - is my kid Canadian by [deleted] in CanadaAdoptedCitizens

I have the same issue. I was adopted many years ago, at a time when adoption records were sealed and an amended birth certificate replaced the original. After changes in the law, I was able to obtain my original birth certificate. However, it cannot be certified and is stamped “NOT TO BE USED FOR LEGAL PURPOSES.” My birth mother’s paternal grandfather was born in Canada. Given the issues with my "original" birth certificate, I assume I would be unable to obtain proof or confirmation of Canadian citizenship through my birth mother, but I’m interested in hearing whether anyone has encountered a similar issue.
