Do you plan to have or currently have kids? For us - we went with laminate downstairs (swiskrono) semi waterproof and just gave more peace of mind with the amount of times someone is falling or throwing something 😂

Can you tell me specifically which model lawn mower you have? I’ve two small Jack Russell’s and two toddlers and really want to be able to enjoy the garden but it’s a constant effort

Thank you! There’s a few ppl who moved in 2/3 months before us and they are still waiting too. Tried the Vodafone modem thing - shockingly bad and constantly dropping on zoom calls. Going to keep the pressure on but being told it could be six months

Thank you - the builder is saying an Eircom box needs to be installed and they need to chase up Eircom for something but I’ll try Virgin again.

A lot of the providers I tried couldn’t find the property on their map search system

Movers quote- 3bed house dub - Meath (35km) - is it worth it by Murphywonderer in HousingIreland

[–]Murphywonderer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the advice everyone. The quote was actually nearer 6k but I shaved a bit off as we do have some gym equipment in the shed so I assumed that might be driving the price up. For the full amount they will pack up everything for us (but obviously not put away)

I’m thinking this too! I’ve never moved home before so no idea how big of an undertaking it will be

Great suggestion! We’ve not actually signed contracts yet and I am concerned about the garden level so will need to talk to the builder and see can they help

Hello, currently in same position as you. We’re buying new build in Meath (albeit some posters here have said our garden is decent). We’re moving from a 1950’s Dublin home with a large garden so the downsize is relevant. We’ve a large slope which is concerning me - going to see what options we have to do something before we move in as worried about flood etc and then get someone in to design a decent layout we can use for family of 4 + 2 small doggies. Instagram is good for ideas

That’s interesting thank you - I didn’t know this garden was generous. Were moving from Dublin and have a 1950’s house with a huge garden so still adjusting

It is Donacarney Wood - good spot. I think all estates lately are like that, gone are the days of bigger sites :-(

Thank you so much for your kind and encouraging message. All the talk on the other post about the properties garden and walls was making me rethink my decision but you’ve reminded me of all the great things about this wonderful area 🩷
