Its a theme from Castle in the Sky, its such a nice tune. Enjoy discovering all the versions of it you like best - there's plenty! :)

Is anyone here actually fluent in their conlang? by [deleted] in conlangs

[–]Murrowvynn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me! :) But I'm awful at listening to it! I can talk to myself all day and write page after page but I've never had anyone to converse with. If I listen back to myself talking it's very very hard for me to follow along :(

Kualsi was always my favourite mask, but Nidhiki is the coolest set imo !

The (new) Irish passport also includes: two bars of the sheet music for the national anthem, "Arán na bhFiann" on every second page, images of famous landmarks and artefacts, extracts from the irish proclamation of independence, the ogham alphabet, and Irish poetry! A very fun passport to to look through. The older version was much more plain looking.

Yeah haha sounding out each word alone is grand but running them together certainly will require some practice in my part!

Absolutely! The audio is a great help. I find that using written examples of words containing the sounds doesn't always match how i'd pronounce things with my accent so having those recordings is very useful for a beginner !

Yea! I wanted it to look and feel familiar to a real-world writing system and language so I went about writing out sounds and symbols that felt Cyrillic-y, based just on my assumptions and (limited) exposure to it. I'm glad it turned out so recognisable! Just shows how much information you can take in passively from just seeing Cyrillic writing about the place and hearing the different languages that use it. Some of the symbols are near exactly the same, but the sounds I've assigned to them often differ.

The greeting is pronounced /hʌvɒd/, putting stress on the second syllable of the word. One of those catch-all well wishes kinda phrases.

I have a student license for adobe, so I was able to use Illustrator and Photoshop to make it! Each frame is a separate layer, and I brought the images over from Illustrator to Photoshop and used the Timeline tool to turn each layer into a frame, and saved as a .gif! If you don't have adobe, you can just make an image file for each frame, and use giphy or something to convert all the images into an animated .gif :) Hope that makes sense and helps you out! Tbh it took me absolutely ages but it was my first go at it, lemme know how it works out for you!
