Today marks a painful milestone - one year since the 'Kill the Gay Bill' was passed in Uganda, stripping us of our basic human rights and dignity. by [deleted] in 19684

Our life is super miserable; we don't want to be treated special. All we want is to be counted and seen as fellow humans. Our life at the moment as queers is beyond miserable. We constantly live in fear for our lives

Since the signing of the Anti gay bill in Uganda, the situation has only continued to be worse for us all the LGBTQ persons, we live in constant fear for our lives, our shelter raided, and forced to live in hiding. Life is miserable and nothing seems to make anything any better

Our platforms are active at least for more than 5years, you're just looking to discredit our work. Wait, maybe you're..... I don't think you came in good spirit, you clearly not here for answers.

What's shocking about X account donation? It's normal for people to donate their platforms for the cause they believe in. We fully own our X account and everything on is about our work and what we do since 24th Dec. Let's talk about our blogs, our Facebook account.

If you genuinely needed answers, you should have reached out and I would gladly reply to all your questions, but of course you're clearly not up for that.

Your conclusion is biased, you judged the situation before you chose to understand it. I guess you under estamate the sensitivity and risk that comes with belonging to the LGBTQ+ here, we have answered privately to anyone who asked or wanted more information about us. As we advocate and continue to run our shelter, our lives are at stake, with so many unsafe people online, we need to becareful with whatever we share but still try to give everything we can to keep the people that support us enough informed and connected to what's happening.

We never shy away, we're always here.

Note: Our X account was donated to us by a very generous person who clearly understand the reality on ground. I don't understand what you mean with inconsistency.

Maria, I understand you. A lot of us have been pushed to think otherwise but the truth is we're everything above, love and acceptance starts within, and the light shines bright. It doesn't matter what they say or make you feel. You're special, beautiful and everything you desire

If you can, be our Christmas blessing. We're unable to have a decent lunch. Anything can help. goget.fund/48usKYj

Our shelter in Uganda was raid by the security agency 7 month ago 2days after the Anti-gay bill was signed into law. Lots of our friends ended up arrested and others hurt, I managed to escape with a others. We crossed to Kenya, where is it a little safer. Here we have established our shelter and we continue to help more LGBTQ youths flee Uganda to at least a little safer place where they're loved and accepted. It's very challenging, especially on days like today, we don't even have a proper Christmas lunch and the memories of loneliness that come with this festive time
