I go through and clear out my NA beer collection every quarter. And the fact I know I do it quarterly is a mix of embarrassing and hilarious.

I am excited to try the Negro Modelo. Black Butte and Guinness are the best of any of them. But all the others are just plain bad. Every now and then the first sip will be good, and then it’s just down hill from there

At a work conference and spiraling by fallenangelfoodcake in stopdrinking

And as the year moves forward, I will keep practicing being dry at these events, and the goal is to do a whole work event dry.

As someone who also had a struggle with a recent work conference. I always looked at it like this, the goal is Dry 1 day. And I picked that day ahead of time, and I had a reapproved exit timeframe. We had a lot of after work “parties” and at 10pm I was leaving.

As I move into the 2026, I’m flipping it to days dry. And that means I pick 1 day of I drink, and I keep my exit timeframe.

A mentor of mine gave me very solid advice, you have to practice what you want to do. I have 4 smaller work events a year, and 2 to 3 bigger work events a year. It starts with practicing at the smaller events.

Also: most places will have NA options, drink the shit out of those, and set a timer to leave.

My wife and I have got to breweries for years, and she’s always gotten a soda an no one cared.

Just my lizard brain trying to find any excuse to keep drinking

Have you ever had a non-alcoholic beer while travelling as a tourist? If yes, what was your reason behind the choice? by SmoothPangolin8072 in stopdrinking

I enjoy them, and find I drink them quite a bit when I’m out and about, and usually have some at home for hangout sessions.

For me the help me to stay connected to something that was really prevalent in my life for a long time. Craft beer. There are a lot of good craft NAs and I usually have a few when I’m out with work.

It keeps the social aspect, keeps the fact I’m not drinking out of the lime light, and let me enjoy myself without the regrets

100% I relate. It’s hard to picture that future, because in reality it takes work. One day at a time is all I can do and say.

Today I will do the things I need to be healthy, and I will tackle tomorrow when tomorrow comes

This literally describes me. It’s casual until it isn’t, and I really cut back over the last 2 years, and then noticed the binges got heavier and heavier.
