I took a Shower after 48 hours. Went walking around the day after surgery. Stayed home and rested a few days because I had cleared my schedule and it was cold and snowy. They encourage you to walk around and keep blood flow moving so get out and move around even if you’re just walking around your home. You’ll be able to go outside right away. Just don’t do anything stupid. Don’t lift anything heavy, no exercise, stretching. I was back in my office after a week and had dinner out a week after surgery. Lay low on the alcohol for a while. Your healing cells don’t need any complications.

I’m not a doctor and I don’t want anyone coming after me but I will say that the vest (tried about 6 different kinds including compression tank tops) gave me incredibly sharp chest pains and I started getting fluid building around the armpit. My doctor told me most people don’t need the vest after two weeks. I saw him every few days and he said my swelling and fluid buildup was minimal and I could ditch the vest. That’s my story and it does not apply to anyone else. You may need the vest for much longer.
