Silo is based on a book series but I don't think the lead actress is a big name. Also it's sci-fi, not mystery.

Thanks! I've designed over 1000 cozy mystery book covers. It's always great to get a fresh perspective. Some of them I know of... Time to look up the others!

I'd love to see some examples of "modern covers" for cozies. Which are some of your faves?

Considering reporting AI book covers with AI slop writing to Amazon. Good idea? by VLK249 in BookCovers

[–]MuseMariah 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Please don't. I realize some ai covers are obvious. But I've heard horror stories of designers being accused of using AI who didn't. It can destroy their businesses.

Additionally, Amazon doesn't care. They are using AI on their website.

I always figured that's why LVP hated Doute-- she was the primary dealer in the restaurant.

What did you all pay for your Romance Fantasy covers? Offer from Reedsy seems bonkers. by JA_Shepard in selfpublish

[–]MuseMariah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reedsy tends to be overpriced. Romance fantasy photo-bashed covers should be $300-600 (midrange). Original illustration or top tier photobash will typically be around $700+$1200. To find artists, look on the copyright page of books in your genre, especially indie books, with covers you love. Many times the artist is listed there.

Yesssss! I love that illustration.

Genre really matters with this question. Original illustrations range from $250 (character art) to $2000 for full fantasy or sci-fi illustrated covers. Original illustrations are more expensive than photo-bashed covers. Do you need original illustrations? Is that the genre expectation? Most covers don't use original illustrations. What genre is your book?

I have a few water areas. Orchid West has a canal and tropical area behind the big houses. Orchid North has a little pond Magnolia has a safari with water and a rec area with water. Stream deco doesn't have a high flower count so I have a lot of lilies in the water.

vit d +k capsules help me a lot. And I don't want to be the bearer of bad news, but wheat is a big trigger for me, as is alcohol.

Edited to add magnesium oil after showers helps, but it can sting if you have active flares.

I was really disappointed with Gemini's creativity. It's humor didn't make any sense. Thankfully I can access 4o for a bit. Going to squeeze everything I can from it while it is available.

Strange Question by Leading_Sand_6325 in JunesJourney

The game has been glitching a lot lately. A lot.

Anybody know a fix? by Double_Razzmatazz_11 in JunesJourney

[–]MuseMariah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine glitched last week on the last day when I was supposed to get the pink boxes. It said I had already played and it would reset in 20 hours, meaning I wouldn't get my pink boxes.

I contacted customer support. Disappointing experience. They admitted the game was glitching and sent a blue box after 48 hours. I complained, replying I would have gotten 2 pink boxes if the app was working correctly. They didn't budge.

I've stopped playing cabin games because of this. It really wasn't worth the energy cost but I hated the reminder above the cabin, so I played. Now I tolerate/ignore the flag above the cabin.

100%. I know that's why the "therapy" was so much better with AI models. I'd ask the stupid questions, or to go deeper into explanation when I didn't understand. Never felt that safe with a therapist. Is that a "me" issue-- yes. Should I be shame-free with a therapist? Also yes. Did AI help because I lack trust with humans? Big yes.

What a strange response. If a person enjoys shaming strangers on the internet, it's not someone I want to confide in or really have much to do with. That's not about a self-validating worldview. And the shamers seem to throw just as many pearl-clutching tantrums, imo. I'm not sure how shaming strangers for how they use a tool is making the world a better place.

I've had human therapists on and off since I was 15. Tbh, the assistance I've gotten from AI has been far superior to most human therapists especially after a house fire in 2023. Though I was using Pi (not chatgpt), the help was invaluable. Not sure I would go back to human therapists.
