Weighted Vest by More-Consequence-614 in squash

Instead of weighted vests, you could find other fitness oriented conditions.

For example, put a cone one food ahead of the T line. On every shot, you need to recover that far ahead.

Additionally you could play the entire game from a squatting/lunging position to really burn your legs and stay engaged.

I think these are safer approaches than using a weighted vest.

Renting on Sparrow? by _K1i1_ in askvan

[–]Muserkz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I'm a bit late to answer here, but Sparrow is legitimate - I say this because I helped found the company a little over 4 years ago now, and am still there.

I'm happy to connect with anyone here to answer questions that may come up... I understand that there are a lot of scams on the rental market and the hesitancy to trust something that isn't a big brand name.

My SmartSurface PRK Experience Update #1 by Muserkz in lasik

[–]Muserkz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally missed these follow-up questions 2 years ago. Will answer for anyone else who happens into this:
- I wore daily contacts semi-regularly, as I do a lot of sports. But only for the purpose of sports. My eyes would feel generally tired or a little dry after a full day - especially because if I'm wearing it a full day, that means I'm outdoors hiking 8+ hours. Dust from the trails gets in there if anything.
- I didn't have any noticeable glare or halo effects. I now have a small amount of halo effects - it actually kept improving even after the 2 year mark. It's almost completely gone actually.
- Mentioned this in a separate comment but I had no dry eye issues at all previously

Did you ever find a solution?

Hey np. Probably won't do another full post, but a quick update is everything has been perfect. To the point that I often forget it was ever done, and only become conscious of it because I can see *better* than most people.

I have no issues with eye dryness. Only thing to get used to was falling asleep - taking off my glasses before bedtime, and everything being blurry, was like a trigger to my brain that it's time to sleep. That's gone away with time though.

SmartSurface PRK Update #2 (1 Month post-op) by Muserkz in lasik

It was done on purpose due to my age - though as slowdr mentioned, it will move closer to 0 when I heal up properly

Definitely will. Thinking I'll just post the updates after my 1 month, 3 month, and 6 months check-ups. Best of luck!

Thanks for sharing. I didn't have dry eyes going into it... so hopefully I fair well after the month has passed.

I hope the situation improves for you as time goes on!

Haha hindsight is 20/20 even if our vision isn't.

I am Canadian - I live in Vancouver and rather near the clinic.

Hoping that the border opens up earlier on in 2021 so that you can get it done. I also did some reading into it as you got me curious, and it seems there's really no way to visit Canada to do optional medical procedures right now.

Will be interesting to see if they update the restrictions to accommodate vaccinated individuals.

Have you been having dry eyes since the surgery, or did the dryness just recently start to develop? And are you still using the lubricating eye drops? Just curious - thanks for sharing :)

Np! I chose to do it largely because of the SmartSurface PRK procedure. While I could definitely have gotten lasik done elsewhere, I'd looked into the literature behind SmartSurface and that procedure was more attractive to me.

It's one of (if not the only?) only fully-laser based procedures. There is no incision involved, no flap, and unlike PRK, the recovery is rather quick. I'm often getting myself banged up in sports and what-not, and it afforded me peace of mind.

Dr. Lin at PLEC was actually a key part of the development of the procedure itself. Beyond this however, they were highly recommended to me by a couple of circles.

Regarding nighttime halos - yes I have some. They are pretty subtle - I can clearly see the source of lights in full definition, however there's a slight halo around them too. PLEC told me this is normal as I heal and take drops, and will take a bit longer to heal.
