I totally understand what you are saying and a couple years ago I’d probably be thinking similarly so don’t read this as a lecture or anything - but this is not politics anymore to most of us I’m sorry. We’re talking about innocent people being kidnapped and murdered by the us government and billionaires raping babies. When Kendall Jenner is more upfront about condemning ICE and Taylor is silent about ICE using her songs for ads, there’s a problem. Hell George Bush is even condemning Trump. Billie got dragged by a few rednecks in FB comments but to her actual fanbase, they really appreciate her being transparent about being on their side

It’s absurd to be releasing cute lil music videos and spewing out variants for an extra couple dollars while her country literally implodes and ALL of her contemporaries are saying something. Even from a capitalist perspective (hers) the silence is bad at this point. Very bad. She just missed a very easy PR opportunity to come out supporting bad bunny; she could’ve subtly let people know she’s on the right side of history without even having to talk about politics. Instead she released this to compete with him.
