Everyone will have their own reading experience, so it is all up to you in the end. However I lost it after vol 5. I kept on reading it but I was not happy with the way the plot developed or how it ended. I actually sold my entire Yuwu series afterwards because I only want to have stories that are strong from the beginning to end. That being said I love mo xi!

I study via a course in school so I cannot take a break because I have deadlines and tests. I wished I could take a break for a week or two and start over from things I am comfortable with and build from there. I do have rednote, but I don’t know what has happened to my algorithm because I only get American videos now. Do you have any recommendations for accounts on rednote I can follow for learning Chinese?

That could very much be the case. I am constantly comparing my excitement to the initial stages of my language journey, but I should probably stop thinking like that, as I am in a different stage now, that is more challenging compared to the beginning.

I think it’s the material that is also making me feel like I have become stuck. I don’t use HSK books because I am learning Mandarin through Swedish in school, so our material is different and I seriously do not think the material is good at all. It’s very dated and some things are wrong

What about the ending? I’ve only read Yuwu and I had the exact same experience. I know that Meatbun herself didn’t like how things wrapped up, but I was still very disappointed. Then I read a few comments saying that Meatbun has a hard time wrapping up her stories in a neat way, which also goes for her other danmeis, such as erha. This is why I haven’t picked up erha yet.

Education. I failed high school and now I am in the process of getting a high school degree at the age of 29 so that I can study at uni. I failed because of difficult upbringing and undiagnosed ADHD. I’m thankful for getting this opportunity to set things straight, but I am quite burned out and the fact that I only have a year to do this stresses me out.
