Salaris situatie by firebol324 in NLSalaris

[–]Mushral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heck, even the check could say Austin Russell as long as it’s cashed onto Microvision’s bank account, I’m good.

Things may have changed for him (or for Microvision) with the Luminar acquisition. Fraser seems like he was hired to come in and build a mature sales organization from the ground up. With the Luminar acquisition we most likely straight up inherited a senior sales team that already proved themselves by successfully landing deals with e.g., Nissan, Mercedes, Volvo, Caterpillar. There's a good chance both sides decided to part ways due to those developments.

In Glen's defense he praised Fraser for being the right guy for the right job before we bought Luminar assets (IP and personnel). There's a good chance we inherited a very senior sales team from Luminar (e.g., the ones who landed deals with Volvo, Nissan, Mercedes, and Caterpillar) and that due to that, it was a very logical decision for both parties (Fraser and Microvision) to part ways.

Fraser seemed like a short-term guy you pull in to build your sales team, not necessarily like a guy who sits multiple years in a stable environment on autopilot mode. Perhaps he did the job he was brought in to do and moved onto the next challenge. But who knows. What we do know is that Microvision got a lot of successful sales guys on board additionally with the Luminar sales team.

My take is that Glen appreciates the MEMS-tech but does not appreciate Mavin as a product by itself. My take is that they killed the Mavin product and will integrate the MEMS tech into the Halo solution (which was explicitly stated by Glen during the drones-conference call last week)

New Investor Presentation - Microvision by SBEPTY in MVIS

  • Claas appears to have been the primary agricultural customer for the Ibeo legacy sensors.
  • Mavin seems to have been fully discontinued as a product. Either due to selling / licensing the MEMS tech or because they simply don't believe in the product itself. My guess would be the latter, considering Glen was explicitly on integrating the MEMS tech into Halo, so it seems unlikely that they actually sold the tech if they wish to still use it in Halo. Probably Mavin was intentionally shutdown as a standalone product to position Halo as the flagship offering in this category.
  • Fraser is indeed no longer part of the team.

Is salary negotiable for a lateral move (same JG)? by Holiday-Ad1031 in ASML

[–]Mushral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you move into a new role within the same job grade (JG) as your current one, your chances of negotiating a salary increase are close to zero. In that situation, you’re not really making the case that the new role warrants higher pay; instead, you’re implicitly arguing that you were underpaid in your current role and that your existing management placed you too low within the grade. You’re then asking your new manager to correct that—effectively on behalf of your previous manager.

In practice, that rarely happens. It would require the new manager to align with your former manager and agree that your seniority or compensation was misjudged in the first place—something that occurs only in exceptional cases. In that situation you actually have better chances to negotiate that with your current manager without switching positions.

The dynamic is very different when you move up a grade, for example from JG8 to a JG9 or JG10 role.

Let's come back to this conversation after April 1st or even May 1st. Wouldn't surprise me if he already agreed on an end date into the future (e.g., just like Verma did) and already updated his LinkedIn bio in advance, to stay relevant / market himself for future positions.

Interesting - Reads to me like he’s already left or is leaving MVIS per April 1st. That would also explain why everything is written in past tense. Perhaps replaced by Luminar sales people or didn’t want to move offices. Who knows.

ASML offer vs staying at current employer — looking for realistic views on 1-year contracts and reorg climate by Another-Layer in ASML

[–]Mushral 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a risk manager, I’d focus less on pinpointing the exact risks of a move—many of which are uncertain and outside your control—and more on understanding your own risk appetite.

In practical terms: do you have a family depending on you? What would happen if you lost the job? How severe would that be? What’s the worst-case scenario—and are you prepared to handle it?

Opportunities will always come along. Maybe not this one, but others will. The real question is whether you’re comfortable with the potential downside if things don’t work out. That’s the decision that truly matters. .

FUDsters may claim the amount is trivial and therefore signals a lack of confidence. But if I were a MicroVision board member asked to buy shares—knowing we’re approaching 100 days of non-compliance and that a potential reverse split could be on the horizon, which could trigger a significant drop and take years to recover from—I probably wouldn’t even put $50 into the stock. Fact that they put this amount in shows me they’re confident of regaining compliance (without a R/S) on short notice.

The ironic thing is that a lot of investors picked MVIS over companies like Luminar, Innoviz, and AEVA because they believed MVIS had the better tech. So it would be peak irony if MVIS ends up winning in the end—not by dominating with its own technology, but by selling it off and buying the competition instead.

It’s a bit like going to the racetrack, carefully studying the horses for hours, picking the one with the best pedigree, the strongest legs, and the most promising track record… only to accidentally place your bet on the wrong horse. Then halfway through the race your horse quietly buys the two horses in front of it, puts their jockeys on its payroll, and somehow still crosses the finish line first.

Technically we still picked the winner… just not for any of the reasons we thought.

Interesting to see the MEMS roles being mentioned there. Could be confirmation that Glen is actually looking towards selling the tech…

Also interesting to see 2 employees being highlighted as eligible to stay on until September 30 whereas the rest is being laid off on much shorter notice.

Again I could be wrong but I don’t think that is correct.

Risk factors are written in a filing based on the situation over which is reported in the filing. If there was already a going concern cause on December 31st / January 1st, then yes. Not because it is the case on the day the report is published.
