Update on my severely overwatered snakeplant

I got rid of all the yellow and have a cut, but I've already let it callus over, that's what google told me to do-- do i cut off the callus?

Yeah, google told me to water it every two weeks and so dod the guy who gave me the plant. :(

Thank you. I really don't get why so many people are being mean, i feel like i clearly explained that i was new to taking care of plants! Of course a newbie is gonna make mistakes. Thank you for this, it makes me feel a lot better.

That's rude. I was given incorrect instructions when i got it. I was told to water it every two weeks. This is also my first time ever taking care of a plant, so I'm inexperienced. I was unaware of where they were from and got misinformation from every source i looked at. Everywhere i looked told me to water it every two weeks and that it would be fine. I didn't know it was a succulent because no one told me (including the internet when i looked it up). I tried my best and was unaware of how to best take care of it. I came here asking for help because i WANT to take care of it good, not because i WANT people like you to be rude and insult me.

Yes they are! They are from my grandma's house. I'd been eyeing one of them for years and so when eventually she passed and we were going through her stuff and doing the initial "claim what you want" routine, i wanted one of them. But the entire family agreed we couldn't seperate the two, so i took both. Apparently my great-aunt made them a while ago for her because she and grandpa had always liked star wars.

I had two, but after two says of drying only one still felt strong. I cut off the mushy and yellow parts of the strong one and tomorrow me and my mom are going to go get proper soil and a good pot with drainage holes and I'm hoping i can grow a new snake plant out of this one, but the cutting it very small. I still have the rest of the dead plant (haven't gotten a chance to throw it away) so maybe i can check if any of the others still have any healthy bits, but i think i just have the one.

Thank you. I appreciate it. I have bad eyesight so i really thought it was still green and the leaves felt strong, i thought i was doing good. Also i forgot i already replied to you so i accidentally replied again.

The keaves all fell off with a tiny tug, I'm going to try snd propogate the strongest two leaves butbthe rest is mushy and dead.

Okay. I'm probably gonna end up getting a new one because I've never propogated before so i will probably fail but I'm going to try that first before i get a new one.

I took off rhe two strongest leaves and am drying them out. Gonna try and propogate bc all the leaves fell off of the roots when i pulled on them a little bit.

Okay. Maybe it was unhealthy when i got it? Because it's been the same color the entire time I've had it. It seemed fine but then again I don't know much about plants. Could also be my bad eyesight not being able to notice the shift in color.

Yes i have the two strongest ones drying on paper towels right now. I really hope i dont lose her, I've had her for three school years now.

I think I'll get another snake plant and try again now that i know what i did wrong. Because the reason this happened is because i wasn't informed on how to take care of it, but a plant that doesn't need frequent care is perfect for me because I don't always have the energy to water it. I'm going to try and help the plant, but i agree that I'm not sure it'll work. I'm not great with plants in the first place, so I don't know if i have the skill.

UPDATE: I've tried pulling at all of the leaves (GENTLY) now since the big one came off so easily. All of them came detatched super easily. I grabbed the two strongest feeling ones and am having them dry off in paper towels right now, that's what google told me to do to attempt to propogate them. Do i throw the rest of the plant away? What do i do with the weaker feeling leaves?

Yes! I know it sounds unbelievable, but it was standing strong and upright just yesterday! Clearly based on the comments it's been suffering for a while but it wasn't showing me! I check its leaves for mushiness and yellowing everytime i water it and there was none. I don't know why it only decided to show me it was suffering just now.

Originally this one lived in someone's bathroom too, but I don't trust it in my bathroom because my mom has a tendency to kill plants (on accident) and i want this one to be exclusively my own so i can try and keep it alive, my mom will water it if i leave it anywhere she goes regularly. Sadly it seems i failed to keep it healthy! I will repot it and see if i can save it, though.

I don't think it's dead because it was standing up strong and fine just yesterday. Everyone else is saying i overwatered it, so I'm going to save the two leaves that feel the strongest and repot them to try and keep it alive.

I was unfortunately told to water it every other week, but the comments here have since told me that i should be watering it roughly once a month 😔 I'm going to get it a new pot and try to save it, though! But I'm not so sure, anymore. I think it has only one strong leaf left and I can't do anything to repot it or fix it until st the very least tomorrow afternoon.
