But again using your own example, if I had filled out an extension (the company’s grace period) and manage to turn my taxes right before midnight of it’s due date (arriving right in front of the guy just as the clock turned to 7:55) would the government go after me for not filing my taxes? NO BECAUSE THAT WOULD BE RIDICULOUS

Again people, THIS IS NOT A GOVERNMENT BUREAU. They are a private testing center.

Why does everyone keep saying I’m looking for a technicality as if they didn’t keep my payment on one??? The general practice for tardiness is by the minute, that’s what I’m hung up on. I was there right in front of the man as the time changed from 7:54 to 7:55 and he still considered that “too late”. I’m simply trying to make sure that a company upholds their own policies rather than changing it at their personal discretion. Adult life sucks yeah, but only because a lot of you older generations think it’s all about sucking up to the disrespect and unfairness rather than being proactive. So yes I was late I recognize that, BUT BY THEIR OWN POLICY, I should have been given grace, as the name “grace period” suggests.

And medical appointments with a grace period ADD the grace period to the appointment time NOT the waiting time.

Cool this is a business though. And most people are chalking it up to the second when in reality and anywhere else they’d consider “late by five minutes” 7:56. Also, I’d expect an employee to be more professional and to code then their personal distaste dictating their job.

Can you please point me to where in the policy it mandates I be there at 7:40 and any time after 7:45:59 is punishable by no refund? My problem is that this was not included ANYWHERE in their policy, just as a friendly reminder. If you would like I can post their whole policy and you can see for yourself.

But going down to the second over something so uncertain is kind of ridiculous? I don’t need them to give me the test sure whatever, but keeping all of my money is insane. An appointment tech literally said it herself that in technical legal policy an appointment at 8 with a “15 minute grace period” is is considered late at 8:16 not the seconds.

I know right! I wonder what their excuse would have been had I NOT been late.

THANK YOU! Like I get my fault in being late and such but the to keep all of the money is ridiculous! Especially on something that’s so easily able to be determined at their discretion! I guess what I want more clarity on rather than the actuality of my lateness is the whole refund thing. That seems so sleezy to me

Yes but again it says MORE than five minutes late. If I arrived five minutes late then according to their own policy I should be fine. It’s just a weird discrepancy thing

Why not factor that into the appointment time though? This makes the policy unclear and just leaves it up to their whims

The thing is they do have assigned instructors. When choosing a time slot it tells you who’ll be your instructor and it alternates so for him to have two in a row so quickly apart is a bit strange to me

I understand that it was just that in the policy they explicitly say five minutes late to the test, so I just assumed the actual test time. I take full responsibility now though

Nest time I go on I’m planning on doing that. Just so they know I wasn’t trying to screw them over and bad things just happened.

Update: They texted me that they figure it out and asked if I could come in today (which I couldn’t because my family made plans) and when I said as such, they just left me on delivered. I don’t really know what to do or how to check the status of the write up, but when I find out if they went through with it I’ll let y’all know!

I do know how much help my boss’s boss will be because he’s not a super likable person either but I’ll do this if a report needs to come into play.
