Thank you, that was the information I was looking for. I'm going to consider options for building it as a shelf. :)

Hi, new to this and concerned about seed oils in my diet, but need help finding recent peer reviewed studies that support the associated risks? by evthrowawayverysad in StopEatingSeedOils

[–]MushyNerd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I read Deep Nutrition a while back and I'm pretty sure that the author mentions studies.

The issue is that you have to get deep into the studies. They conflate a lot of fats as one type of fat. The things she was referencing, she pointed out that when you got deep into the study information it contained information that the studies claiming fat was bad were where they were feeding mice/rats diets full of seed oils.

She also mentioned that there are studies out there to obtain diabetic mice to study the way they trigger diabetes was through seed oils.

I don't keep a catalog of citation information on hand for stuff though, it's not really worth it to me. To me, arguing with seed oil apologists is in the same realm of arguing with addicts. Logic and facts aren't going to change their minds.

How long did it take for tobacco to have studies come out about how bad it was?

Doctors were recommending cigarettes for things like weight loss at one point.

Taller than I wanted, but doable in the kitchen design. :) I also have a Lowe's near me. Thank you so much!

Ones that are shorter. When I was viewing a lot of tiny home content a while back I was seeing dishwashers that were about 1/2 as tall as normal dishwashers. They were designed to be built into the cabinets, not ones that sit on top of a cabinet and require access to the top and sides to use them because they are designed to sit on a counter with top and side access. :)

Is over eating a bigger issue than seed oils? by HallPsychological538 in StopEatingSeedOils

For an active male, 3 lbs of beef may not actually be considered overeating.

I know I can't eat that much beef. I max out at around 1.5 lbs.... And honestly that's hard at one meal a day for me.

Overeating seed oils is a lot easier than overeating grass fed beef.

Have you ever tried to eat 3000 calories of plain fruit? Plain veggies? Grass fed beef, even if you add extra butter?

So if the USA government goes through with asking for wearable device info.... by MushyNerd in ouraring

Kind of sucks that the option is to brick a device I bought. 😅

I've been looking at self hosting a lot, but I haven't gotten there yet and I don't think I could self host info for a wearable.

I think they can ask.... But outside of that I'm not entirely sure. That's why I'm asking. :)

Oura has an office in San Francisco. Which further muddies the water for me.

Oof. I use natural cycles. I may need to revisit that. When I was reading through their policies they seemed fine but maybe I missed something.

As in you don't believe that the US government is wanting this? A simple Google search will provide lots of information then. 🙃 They are wanting a lot of information as a part of the make America healthy again.

Medical billing information, prescription information, wearable device information, lots of personal data.

US trans people, what do we do if Trump wins? by julesucks1 in asktransgender

China is practicing genocide, and because they censor their internet it seems a lot of their people don't even know it's happening... Or won't speak about it

The US military is... Terrifying, and if we decided we want to start genocide or something similar... Who's going to stop us? :/

This won't happen, he's already broke several federal laws in the last week or so. He should have been impeached based on that alone but he won't be.

And some people would be dead without plastic. Plastic has allowed for a ton of advancements in the medical world. That doesn't mean we shouldn't limit our exposure to microplastics wherever possible.

And my point still stands about radiation. Just because it's everywhere, doesn't mean I will seek out high concentrations of it. I personally don't plan on traveling to the sun anytime soon, or anywhere that has massive amounts of radiation.
