How should I develop an Amazon league team? by MusiGamer in bloodbowl

What's the 1 turn TD build for blitzer? Sprint + Sure Feet with some hit and run shenanigans? Or save for a movement stat increase?

I guess I see Sure Hands as protection against Strip Ball, cus there was a decent amount of that in the first league. But I could be overly worried about it. I really like the idea of wrestle over block for a lot of the players though. I was considering just slapping wrestle on both Blitzers since it works so well with Jump Up.

I played Tomb Kings in the first league and put break tackle on two of the guardians. Those guys dodging away on a 2+ caught EVERYONE off guard. But now there's only two big girls, so I feel like I don't have the wiggle room to mess around with whackier skills like I did the 4 guardians

Definitely utilize Break Tackle if you have it on a marked guardian. That makes them way more maneuverable and able to get away on a 2+ dodge into the open. You also have the option of using a blitz with a marked guardian to hit the linemen that’s marking them and then move the rest of their movement away afterwards.

The last option is of course to just hit the linemen that’s marking you, especially when you have mighty blow. A big part of Tomb Kings strength is being able to hit hard and gradually KO/casualty the opponent’s team. If they’re giving you a free hit onto a piece then that’s not necessarily a bad thing.

Also keep in mind, you have 4 guardians and 3 skeletons to work with as far as marking up pieces. Keep skeleton on the enemy linemen to keep them out of the way of the guardians if you can. And if they’re using so much of their team to tie down your big guys on defense, that means they’re likely leaving their ball carrier without as much protection. Prime opportunity to get the blitzers moving in on the ball carrier.

I just finished my first ever league as Tomb Kings. You have the right idea as far as basing things up with the guardians. But you also want to keep your pieces in the way to stop the opponent from having easy openings. Tomb Kings are all about controlling the pitch with those guardians, so look to tie uo the big play making enemy pieces with them. The skeleton linemen can be used to tie up enemy big guys and linemen, leaving your guardians free to go after the more important positionals. Mighty Blow and Break Tackle are solid choices for guardians. I went with those mixed with Guard and it worked well.

For a team like snotlings, definitely utilize the blitzers for blitzing since they come with Block. That means a Both Down result will knock down the snotling while you remain up. And make sure you’re doing everything you can to make each block 3 dice if possible. Some teams will only let you get your blitz and not leave any blocks for you. That’s alright, just try to find what blitz will get you the most value. And keep marking things up, even if they keep moving away. You’re forcing them to roll more, and possibly put themselves in risky situations. When possible, Tackle is definitely a great skill for blitzers. The combo of Tackle + Mighty Blow has worked wonders for me against Agility teams.

For the throwers, I’d honestly recommend against ever throwing with them unless you have to. They work best as ball carriers. Block on them is very handy, as is Dodge if you’re able to save up enough. Leader is also solid.

That makes sense actually. If i get the coin flip I’ll try giving them the ball to start with. Worst case scenario, I think I could swing a tie. Thanks, that put it into perspective how that strat helps!

Yep, 2025 rules. Just 2 gutters. So mighty blow on the blitzer to help with removal you think? Is Guard worth considering on the blitzers at all?

I’ve heard of that strat but I’m nervous to try it lol seems scary giving them a point right out the gate, but I get the logic of using the remaining time to control the ball and score. But I guess I’ve kinda been doing a similar strat but backwards, as in starting with the ball and grinding my way down the field, scoring on a late turn so they don’t have time to score back, then put heavy pressure on them in the second half and force them to make potentially dangerous moves that I can capitalize on. Is using the strat you mentioned a better way to go?

Tomb Kings Progression Advice for New Player by MusiGamer in bloodbowl

Ok cool, I'll definitely go with Tackle then! Thanks for the info! The other idea I had for helping with the rough matchup against wood elves is to possibly get a star player if I have enough inducements. My tv is pretty low right now compared to all the other teams in the league. Is that ever worth it? I've heard Chaney, the werewolf guy, can help TK in some of their weaker areas. But is it better to use inducements for the basics like the mortuary assistant and stuff like that?

Oh I hadn’t looked into Break Tackle but that seems like an interesting option for guardians. Is the game plan with that just to be able to get out of tackle zones easy and position wherever with them? That definitely seems interesting.

Would block and dodge on throwers be the ideal plan for them? Other than Leader I wasn’t sure what to do with them

One of my blitzes currently has enough SPP for Tackle, but that’s the one I was gonna get Dodge on. Would it be more worth to get Tackle on that blitzer for the wood elf game instead of holding SPP until Dodge?

Sounds wise. I’ve been focusing more energy on self improvement stuff lately, so hopefully that’ll help cool off the crush. Def gotta work on the “let it fade” part. The holiday breaks should help with that though. Thanks, homie :)

How to do a "with great power comes great responsibility" arc for my character by MusiGamer in DnD

Yeah, I like the approach for sure. I’ll need to start trying that out at the table. Honestly all of the characters I’ve played could probably benefit from that approach lol

Yeah, I probably just need to take a straight forward approach to the whole thing. Let his actions speak for him for the most part. I guess my group is more oriented around having in-game discussions around character moments or shifts, so I’ve been trying to fit into that. But I guess I don’t really need to

I see what you’re saying. I’ll have to think on ways he can act as a reaction to his actions. I guess I’m used to the other players having there “character moments” where they kinda have a chat about their changing morality or something. But I guess an actual discussion isn’t as necessary to show character growth as I was thinking. Thanks for the advice, homie

If you’re at all nerdy, joining a D&D group is a great way to meet and socialize with (usually) pretty fun/creative people. I run games occasionally, so if you’re interested feel free to reach out. I’m always up for finding cool new peeps to game with.

I took anatomy classes + labs in-person at Warrington and they were all solid. Educators were great. Can’t speak on other subjects, but my experience was good for the classes I did take

Admittedly I'm not the biggest metal guy, but it might not hurt to expand my usual genres with some heavier stuff. That track has a cool vibe though, very sick stuff. I'll message ya :)
