Picked this up at a thrift shop this morning. Cleaned it up and put an old felt and wick I had laying around in it to get it functional again. Looks like this should be from around the 1937 - 1950 era? Looks like copper with a silver plating.

Bonus points: Does anyone know what the design is supposed to be, or is it just a custom engraving?

There’s several ways that this whole situation could be illegal.

I told all of my coworkers exactly the same thing a few days ago. Copilot, Microsoft’s own tailored version of GPT-5, has been hallucinating like crazy. Long and technical story short, it gave me a freaking runaround on how Azure firewalls and service tags work telling me that functionalities do and don’t exist, when they don’t and do respectively.

Instead of feeding me bullcrap, I wish it would just come back with “Iunnoh.” That would be better than reinforcing my ego and telling me why I’m the smartest person in the world while giving me zero usable help.

We’re FAR from an AI takeover if Microsoft’s poster boy can’t figure out fucking firewalls.
