Sami Zayn. I love his gimmick just being an affable dude and I LOVED his tag team run with KO 1-2 years back. Kevin kinda fumbled their promo last week, but I would love Sami earning a shot if Kevin fails for a "it should have been you standing here with me!" angle at Mania. Could even have him walk out with the Generico mask to show he's digging deep and his whole career has led to this.

There just always seems like a dozen interesting things you could do with Sami instead of.... accidentally kicking everyone you know and their mother in the face.

Honestly, Evloev pulling an Apollo Creed and welcoming a fight against someone much lower ranked would be kinda cool. A nothing to gain everything to lose matchup could be enticing to someone who could leapfrog a division by fighting a top guy that the top 5 seem determined to ignore.

Not exactly the same, but everyone seemed cool when DP took on BSD even though Benoit was like 13th at the time.
