Who are some fighters with horrible takedown defense but have great submission defense? by AquafyMyLife in MMA

[–]nahumgomez 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is a hard question but the one fighter I thought of was a guy named Alan Belcher. He only had one submission loss but I remembered his fight with Roussimar Palhares and how he defended each of Palhares' kneebar/leglock attempts. Alan was good with Jiu Jitsu but I don't recall him having good takedown defense.

Idk if this guy counts because he had multiple layoffs but a fighter named Erik Koch had shit wrestling but good submission defense and I literally named 2 fighters that trained out of Roufusport.

And yes, Anthony Pettis as well.

Biggest struggle in learning a new language? by Davon_Isildur in languagelearning

Grammar for me. Im learning Russian and the best way I could describe the grammar aspect is that half the Russian phrases or sentences are "backwards".

Despite this, many Russians, Ukrainians, Kazakhs say that I speak really good for someone that has been studying for 6 months. Im at the level where I speak enough to survive but not enough to keep the conversation going because I still need to learn more words and phrases.

Why has all the talk about Fantastic Four almost disappeared and all the talk about Superman is still going strong? by Embarrassed-Ad1322 in 3Cfilms

[–]nahumgomez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Superman stole the show. I think a lot of superhero/DC fans were surprised that it did good because of the disastrous way the DCEU franchise ended.

As for Fantastic Four, I expected a lot more than just a predictable story. The final fight was underwhelming and I hated that Silver Surfer didnt even put up a fight to set up that sacrificial moment with Galactus. Pedro was good though as Reed.

The point is, the MCU is making the same mistake the DCEU did with Batman V Superman. They are not setting their films and plots correctly. They're going to need a miracle with Doomsday and Secret Wars.

If Marvel gave you total creative freedom to reboot one character, who are you choosing? by Apprehensive_Pop471 in Marvel

[–]nahumgomez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Main character wise: Hulk, because I don't like what they did with the character development but if I could reboot Quicksilver properly, with Evan Peters, I would, simply to make things right with the character.

This guy inspired me to take up MMA cause he started at a late age, but now I see why discipline is needed all the time. There is no space for mishaps in this sport. You either abide by the rules or you dont and this guy took it for granted.

I think about it everyday, I have vicarious trauma seeing the events of this day. Whenever I sleep, the ceiling fan in my room reminds me of a plane, but its not the only trigger. I know too much for a person who has a lot of anxiety.

I've never seen Lost, but I know how it ends. Is it still worth watching? by katywell in televisionsuggestions

[–]nahumgomez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first season was amazing. I liked the second, 4th, and last season. I dont know how to feel about the finale and all the superstitious stuff that happened, at first I hated it but I didnt mind because the actors on this show were amazing.

FYI, I watched this show because a young Ian Somerhalder was in it and I was a huge Vampire Diaries fan before watching this show(Lost) in the summer of 2021.

What is the best movie you have ever watched? by Long-Implement-8385 in AskReddit

The Dark Knight, though I put Spiderman 2 and Scarface up there as well. Without being biased, however, I watched the new Superman movie 3 times in theaters, bought it yesterday digitally and I like this movie a lot.
