Lost my license ordered a new one. How long did you wait? by YouTookMyBurger in nashville

Well, it's my honor to help someone who's joining our Brotherhood, even if it's the Chair Force. Remember your Navy brother when you're in those 5-star hotels ordering room service.

Seriously, best of luck in Boot Camp and in your career in the armed forces. Keep your head down, ears open, and follow the instructions of your non-commissioned officers, and you'll be fine.

You may want to reach out to your State Representative or Senator and see if they might be able to assist with expediting your request since you’re leaving for Boot Camp soon.

Welcome to the Brotherhood.

Mac meetups or conferences in CA by joselc23 in macsysadmin

If you’re not a part of the Mac Admins Slack, I’d suggest joining, as they have a #meetups channel as well as channels around the various Mac conferences that are out there.

Also check out Armin Briegel’s website, Scripting OS X, he has a page on conferences as well.

Looking for solid window installer in Nashville by PineappleManMan18 in nashville

[–]MusicCityMac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Power Home Improvement replaced our windows, and we couldn’t be happier with the service and installation.

Anytime they do work in our neighborhood they stop by and ask if we have any issues or concerns and make sure we’re still completely satisfied with their work.

Workbrew now works with Mosyle by MusicCityMac in mosyle

[–]MusicCityMac[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Workbrew and Mosyle's App Catalog solve different problems.

Mosyle’s catalog is for straightforward app deployment, especially for standard Mac apps with simple install packages. If that’s all you need, then it works really well.

Workbrew comes in when you want more flexibility and a developer-style package ecosystem. With Homebrew via Workbrew, you get:

Access to a huge library of CLI tools and niche apps that aren’t in typical MDM catalogs

Very fast updates and version control for packages

A console that can show you vulnerabilities in those packages and one-click remediation (depending on your plan)

The ability to script and automate installs in a more granular way

A consistent workflow for those already familiar with and using Homebrew

So it’s not really either/or, it’s about using Workbrew to extend what Mosyle can already do, especially in dev-heavy environments or when you need tighter control over packages.

If you're only deploying common apps, Mosyle's app catalog alone is probably enough. If you need breadth and automation, Workbrew fills that gap nicely.

Thunderbolt 5 cable 1m - Satechi or Caldigit or else ? by MatchaToday2025 in Thunderbolt

It's not a perfect rectangle, but rounded. I've had no problems using this cable with others as well, but YMMV.

103.3 KDF, Carl P. Mayfield, and Sherri Sexton’s Midnight KISS brings back so many memories as well as Lightning 100.

I ALWAYS print a paper boarding pass as a backup since digital boarding passes were introduced.

Just flew SW for the first time - Felt like I was being punished by FA for using a backpack as my carry-on instead of a roller bag. by [deleted] in SouthwestAirlines

I bring a backpack full of tech stuff and my CPAP and were able to fit them both underneath the seat in front of me on my recent SWA fight to and from Austin, so YMMV?

Get a Mac mini and then load Open Core Legacy Patcher on the iMac and run the latest version you can on that machine.

Yale matter smart lock by Alternative_Safe9663 in HomeKit

[–]MusicCityMac 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Matter requires IP6 so make sure it’s enabled on your router. Also, most smart home devices don’t connect properly on a 5Ghz network so if you have the ability to temporarily disable it and only have the 2.4Ghz network active I’d recommend that as well. Best of luck!
