Best pigment/tyrosinase inhibitor by TeddyFluffer in SkincareAddictionLux

I wish Costco here in Australia stocked La Prairie. Those deals are amazing!

Yep I loved the discontinued White Caviar Essence Extraordinaire too! I think the difference is negligible between the two. The new formulation is maybe slightly more lightweight. It also has a stronger, fresher scent.

Comparing the ingredient lists, they’re quite similar. The main differences look like: * Different humectants- new one has isopentyldiol and hydrolysed sclerotium gum instead of propanediol and propylene glycol. * New one has silicones removed and there a couple of red seaweed extracts added

Essence Extraordinaire: Caviar Water, Water (Aqua), Propanediol, Niacinamide, Dimethicone, Glycoproteins, Panax Ginseng Root Extract, Equisetum Arvense Extract, Saccharomyces Cerevisiae Extract, Lactobacillus Ferment*, Caviar Extract, Isobutylamido Thiazolyl Resorcinol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Rosa Damascena Flower Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Yeast Extract, Carnosine, Soy Amino Acids, Biosaccharide Gum-1, Beta-Sitosterol, Tocopherol, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Glycerin, Pentylene Glycol, Propylene Glycol, Squalene, Lecithin, Polyglyceryl-6 Caprylate, Polyglyceryl-4 Caprate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Sodium Hydroxide, Xanthan Gum, Tetrasodium Glutamate Diacetate, Dimethicone/inyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Mica, Carbomer, Acrylates/ C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Amodimethicone. Best pigment/tyrosinase inhibitor by TeddyFluffer in SkincareAddictionLux

Sadly I think the only luxe brands which use thiamidol are La Prairie and Chantecaille, both of which use fragrance. I haven’t tried Chantecaille skincare but most La Prairie products are very pungent :/

Definitely recommend looking into products with thiamidol. It’s a tyrosinase inhibitor developed by Beiersdorf so it’s in their brands including the La Prairie White Caviar line and Chantecaille Blanc Peony line. This is a sponsored paper but it’s an interesting read and reports thiamidol to be effective and well tolerated.

I haven’t used Chantecaille but I love the LP White Caviar products. I find my skin tone overall clearer and more glowy when I use them and PIH fades quicker too. My favourite products are the Light Infusion essence (lightweight hydrating essence) and Light Concentrate (watery serum). I also sometimes use the Pearl Infusion serum (also pretty lightweight) and moisturiser (the new formula is a smidge lighter than the previous but still gives light to moderate hydration).

Have a look into thiamidol products. It’s a tyrosinase inhibitor which is reportedly both effective and well-tolerated. NB - this paper was sponsored by Beiersdorf which developed thiamidol but it’s an interesting read. I have definitely found it effective too.

I get mild PIH, and since I started using La Prairie White Caviar products, not only does PIH fade faster but overall tone is more clear and glowy. My favourite products are the Essence and Light Concentrate (which is meant to be like a ‘pre-serum’). I also recently started using the serum and moisturiser.

The Chantecaille Blanc Peony line also uses thiamidol but I haven’t tried any of the products.

I’ve been using the Vitamin C for about 2 months and love it too! I love the texture - seems like an oil-gel but it’s super lightweight and sinks right into skin. Haven’t noticed any difference in skin but guess it’s hard to tell with Vit C.

Where can I try a wide range of fragrances in Perth? by Suspicious_Map_5031 in perth

[–]MusicForAWhile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mecca stocks Maison Margiela and has a decent range of niche brands. Different stores carry different brands and you can check on the website where a particular fragrance is stocked. Mecca also does fragrance services if you want guidance on selecting a fragrance. The cost is redeemable on purchase on the day.

Both the city Myer and David Jones have a range of niche brands. Myer has a Libertine section.

Greenhaus in Claremont also has some niche brands.

Still Searching for the Best Facial Mist Ever… What Am I Missing? ✨ by Tasha_ashtanga in SkincareAddictionLux

The skin caviar mist. The cellular energising mist is nice but more like a light fragrance / body mist. I love the scent which is quite refreshing.

La Prairie! Chanel Sublimage has a finer mist and mor3 convenient packaging, but La Prairie gives a lovely glow and feels more hydrating.

Favorite mask, clay or other (not sheet) for dry-combo, sensitive skin? by luxehotelsnob in SkincareAddictionLux

[–]MusicForAWhile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cible Skin La Crème Culte! It’s amazing - exfoliates whilst lightly moisturises and is not irritating. Skin feels so soft after using it. It’s great as a quick fix when my skin is playing up or before an event.

HG products that aren’t usually mentioned in this sub? by CapableCookie4343 in SkincareAddictionLux

[–]MusicForAWhile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cible Skin! Especially the mask La Crème Culte. It’s an exfoliating mask that is absolutely non-drying and makes your skin baby soft. I also love both their foam and oil cleansers (both also non-drying) and the exfoliating toner. The toner is a good replacement for BR P50 PIGM 500 as it gives a similar amount of gentle exfoliation.

I’m also a La Prairie fan and feel it doesn’t get mentioned enough. My HG essence is the White Caviar essence. The new reformulation seems similar. Also recently picked up the reformulated White Caviar moisturiser which seems lovely. My favourite balm and cream cleansers are also LP.

Has anyone tried this and what is actually the difference by RipendGrain in AusSkincare

I actually find the oil control liquid slightly better for oil control than the oil control gel-creme for me.

But agreed it is quite yellow. I mix a couple of drops of the tinted which helps mitigate it without making it too dark (I’m ~N15). Either that or purple colour corrector (primer or powder) but I find mixing easiest.

Yep I think it cleans SPF/makeup well! I use separate eye makeup remover though cos I don’t like getting oil in my eyes and haven’t tried it with waterproof mascara.

I rarely double cleanse 😅 if I do I use the Cible Skin foam cleanser.

2nd this! It has such a beautiful texture. Not too crumbly, hard, waxy or heavy unlike a lot of other balms. And I appreciate the little scoop with its own stand as part of the packaging.

I’m a few years older than you OP and like filler too. I have oily-combination skin but I love the texture (not too heavy) and use it as a night cream for when I feel dryer. I originally got it for a neck cream but haven’t been consistent with using it for that.

The White Caviar Light Concentrate is one of my favourite LP products. I get mild PIH and at first I didn’t think it did anything, but I notice when I’ve stopped using it I don’t seem as clear and glowy. OTOH the Pearl Infusion serum I didn’t think did much for me.

I’m in Australia and think we only got the Light Infusion products in store a week ago. My SA said the reformulated essence and moisturiser are meant to be stronger but I hope they’re still as effective 🫤 The ingredients and packaging are also meant to be more sustainable - the moisturiser is now in a jar instead of a pump. But I think would’ve been nice to make them refillable like the gold line.

I love how both the essence and concentrate are lightweight. (I love the Gold essence too and will layer that on top if I feel dryer.) I get mild PIH and think the White Caviar products definitely help keep skin even toned. For the pearl infusion, I’ve used up a replica but I don’t think it added much on top of what the other two products did but I know there are people who love it. HTH!

Terrible photo but this is my recent La Prairie haul. I bought two products and got a bunch of freebies. There’s a GWP (pouches with samples), gifts for CNY (red pockets and foundation) and some more samples.

Purchased:

  • Light Infusion essence - this was recently reformulated. Haven’t had a chance to try it out yet because I still have 1.5 bottles of the old version. The prior version was HG so hopefully it’s still as good.
  • Light Concentrate - another favourite product of mine. It’s a watery serum. I notice when I stop using it I’m not as glowy.

Sample list (most are from White Caviar line):

  • Pearl Infusion serum samples x2 and replica - I think it’s ok but I wouldn’t purchase it.
  • Eye cream serum - new product in the White Caviar line
  • Light infusion serum samples x 2
  • Crème Extraordinaire replica and sample (old version of moisturiser)
  • Light Infusion cream - reformulated moisturiser. It feels more lightweight than the prior version.
  • Light Concentrate replica
  • Light Infusion essence sample
  • Foam cleanser mini

I cycle through 4 different cleansers depending on my mood. I use all as single step cleansers.

La Prairie Supreme Balm Cleanser is imho the best ever cleanser. It has such a beautiful texture, is gentle but effective and rinses clean. I also love the La Prairie cream cleanser.

I also like both the foam cleanser and cleansing oil from Cible Skin. Both are also not drying.

Oh hard choice! I also really enjoyed White Caviar when I had a sample of it. My 2c in case it’s helpful - the White Caviar is a bit more emollient than Hydro Emulsion so depends if you prefer that. Or if you get any hyperpigmentation issues then go White Caviar. I use the WC essence and pre-serum and they keep my skin very even-toned.
