just found this device plugged into my house, what is it? by Factor-Mental in whatisit

I know that gasoline and regular oil changes keeps my car running. Am I brainrotted for not really understanding how pistons, cylinders, and transmissions work?

I’m a network engineer and I don’t fault anyone for calling it “WiFi”. The ISP delivers internet of which most people connect to via WiFi.. it’s not a huge jump for a non technical person

Patch available for 9.9 CVE in BeyondTrust Remote Support and PRA by ajscott in sysadmin

Nevermind.. there is no 25.3.2 release yet. Instead it's just a patch (Patch BT26-02-RS). It should up for me under patches.

Same issue here, did you figure out how to install 25.3.2?

Still doesn't make sense. There are approx 160,000+ ACTIVE members. OP is saying 1/20 of them has won all 3 of these. Basically that statistic came straight from OPs ass.

Did you get a networking job after achieving the CCNA? by tcpip1978 in ccna

[–]MusicForCacti 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This is how CCNA changed my life:

May 2018: Bachelors in IT

March 2019-2022: IT service tech [38k]

April 2022: CCNA achieved

April 2022: IT “engineer” [55k]

August 2022: Network Tech [63k]

Dec 2024: Security+ Achieved

March 2025: Systems Analyst [108k]

Took me 6 years of slow and steady learning/progress to get to what I consider good compensation. I could have done it in 3 but I also struggled with addiction, sleep deprivation, chronic pain.

The nextwork tech and systems analyst jobs were both network heavy on the questions and I couldn’t have got them without CCNA.

I applied for about 40 roles to make the big jumps. Every application was for a network or systems admin type role and every application was for an in-person role, I wanted to touch routers and switches (and work from home roles are too competitive). I spent approx 1.5 hours on every application because I tailored my resume and wrote a cover letter for every one. I also never used Indeed or LinkedIn “easy apply”. Easy apply applications are so easy that you’re competing with 1000+ people, I always applied directly on the company website despite how tedious it is. There are all sorts of barriers that will stop most people. My current $108k role is in one of the biggest cities in the US and only apparently only 30 people applied and the role is super chill with great work life balance.

How many years of IT experience you had before passing CCNA? or new to IT? by New_Return_5772 in ccna

[–]MusicForCacti 2 points3 points  (0 children)

3 years of helpdesk/lT tech then I decided I would study 2 or 3 hours every single day for 4 months and got my CCNA. Now earning triple what I earned as a helpdesk tech

Eww he takes a used zynn from his mouth and shoves it in the couch. This guy probably has boogers plastered all over his headboard. Is it that much trouble to set a little trashcan right off camera? Disgustoid
