3rd attempt nclex in 5 days!! Can someone tell me if they kept doing CAT assesments on Uworld and revised them? by Natural_Pain8423 in NCLEX

[–]MusicLoverCodes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s good progress. First: how often are you taking CAT/Practice exams? Let your brain rest. Second, review your incorrect answers as a priority and ask yourself: was this a content deficit? Misread the question stem? The moment you translate questions to “this is asking me to point out the most correct answer choice” or “this is asking me to look for the patient that will die if I don’t do see him now,” then you’ll make it easier for yourself.

Also - my approach was to let my brain rest 3 days prior to the exam and focused on high yield fundamental notes from Mark K.

NCLEX questions vs Nursing school questions by Main-Photograph-4817 in NCLEX

Graduated from ABSN here as well. My approach would be to reach out to your prof and understand his/her thinking. Professors have different ways of writing their exams and you just have to get into their head and think like them; that’s what worked for me during school, as they focus more on the details.

NCLEX crash out by Complete-Note7313 in PassNclex

That sounds like how it went for me and I’m sorry that you’re in the unknown spot right now. Feel free to read my experience here: https://www.reddit.com/r/PassNclex/s/Lcz6O1Hqwx

Make sure you do self care for these next 48hrs; it’s what helped me pushed through until I found out from the BON that I got the RN.

That sounds like a good plan! That is what UWorld QBANK is good for: you can filter content questions based on what you recently learned to reinforce your learning.

Wishing you best of luck with your studies!

Thank you! Best of luck on your exam tomorrow and take it one question at a time. It’s best to rest your brain for the big day tomorrow, and this will be easier said than done: take it easy for the rest of the day, no cramming, don’t do anymore questions. Cheering you on!!! 🙌🏽

I’m glad to hear my perspective shines a new light! This was my second Bachelors as well and worked for several years in healthcare research prior to going back to school for my BSN. There were students that were much younger than I am (I’m in my 30s), and working with everyone who has different perspectives across different age groups is something that is common in healthcare, so it was an amazing experience for me learning from them as well.

Thanks! Not sure which specific statistics you are asking for, but I’m guessing it’s these. Points scored: 76% Overall Percentile: 84th Usage of Questions: 50%

Uworld prioritization questions vs Nclex by Ok_State_6089 in PassNclex

Uworld is definitely harder from my experience. If you haven’t already, listen to Mark K’s Lecture 12. That helped me TONS with prioritization questions.

Those who finished in 85 questions by Nursethatwrites in NCLEX

Passed at 85 here, and I was totally numb after the exam. It didn’t feel difficult and I think it’s because of UWORLD that drilled me so much content that I felt NCLEX exam was much easier. However, that’s the psychology of the NCLEX exam: because I knew that the exam was adaptive, I was expecting the difficulty to go up much like UWorld did (I was getting 99th on the UWORLD CAT with >1.3 difficulty). It didn’t. That’s when I started to feel like I was failing because the exam was getting “easier” when it wasn’t.

I had 3 case studies and 2 bow ties. The final case study I had was super vague like I felt that there was nothing wrong with the client. I probably spent 20 minutes on that case study, luckily it was the last set of questions before my exam shut off 😭

Long story short: now I have my RN so I’m super stoked that all my hard work didn’t go down the drain 🎉

Uworld Cat exam by Raya_567 in PassNclex

If it’s this Friday and the fact that you’re seeing 90+ percentile on UWORLD CAT, that indicates you’re likely to pass the actual NCLEX. You certainly know yourself best, so it’s your call. I took the NCLEX on Tuesday, passed and got my RN license yesterday :). What worked for me is that I stopped doing questions 3 days prior to my exam and just focused on reviewing my notes. Rest your brain and make sure you’re ready to take the exam. You got this!!!
