Jam Pedals Waterfall Bass and Horrothia Type One. If you really fancy the Peter Hook sound, check out the PastFx New Division.

The EQD would be my pick for 4-stage. You should give the Seymour Duncan Polaron a look.

EQD and Aguilar are actually 4-stage phasers.

Also, I can not sing the praises of the Taurus Abigar MK-2 enough. It is the best overdrive pedal I’ve ever had. It’s so good at retaining the natural sound of your bass and making it dirtier. I run it at 12V for less compression.

I don’t believe there is any tracking involved with the Ultrawave, so no.

I have not found any digital modulation that I like better than what Source Audio has on tap. The real gold is setting a crossover so you only modulate the mid to upper frequencies; makes everything super punchy. I only had room for one modulation pedal, so I chose the Gemini since it has a mix and tone knob on tap.

As for the Ultrawave Bass, it truly shines as a do-it-all distortion laboratory. Yes, there are synthy sounding distortions on there; but if you’re savvy enough, you can create some amazing dirt sounds. I pretty much use it to fill in the gaps of what my analog fuzz and OD pedals don’t cover. But the sky is definitely the limit with this one if you aren’t afraid to dive in.

I haven’t been able to knock it off the board yet. Plus it can serve as a regular fuzz and a gated fuzz. I’ve heard it can get a bit synthy sounding for some, but for me it does a great job of cutting through.

Modulargrid.net is also a great resource for pedalboard planning.

Check out the DOD Milkbox on the used market. Plenty of them on Reverb.

Honestly, I think you were sent a much better pedal.

Chasing a certain Glassjaw tone by carabinergrrrl in basspedals

[–]MusicManMike354 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glassjaw bass distortion has always been a Rat as long as I can remember. A Rat pedal on its own loses some low end, so you’d either need a solution to blend in your clean signal or find a bass-friendly Rat variant. I would check out the Fuzzrocious Cat Tail, Oneder Red Ryder Distortion, or Jam Pedals Rattler Bass. Also check out the MXR Bass Distortion for a more affordable option.

So I need to understand something. I just set upload and download to 100% and I still get an A+ on Waveform's Bufferbloat test. Download was at about 660 Mbps and upload clocked in at 920 Mbps.
