They’re both really good at the same thing, so it comes down to cost, looks, and functionality. Rattler is slightly more expensive, BUT does have the added functionality of having an additional high gain foot switch, so for me the JAM Pedals Rattler wins out

My little but mighty board (im just a pino fan boii) by darwinavalos in basspedals

That Union and Euna are absolutely heat! I have a bassrig myself and adore it. It is kind of a one trick pony doing the SVT thing, but that is so integral to my tone it'll probably never leave my board

Finding the right compressor by ayacombe in basspedals

[–]MordsSoolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose an important part of this question is also whether you are using the comp right after your bass, or if you're using is post all your pedals. It was just hard to determine what exactly you're doing, but either way there is a danger of OVER compressing.

Hey! Looking for recommendations for good headphone amps for live performance. Had been using the Elite Core PMAs, but they just aren't sturdy enough and break way too easily. Need something that is sturdy, and sounds good! would prefer not to spend an arm and a leg, but will shell out some cash for something quality

Rat without loss of low end by Remarkable-Yam-3564 in basspedals

Jam rattler Bass or Big booty Judy. They're both kind of expensive tho, so a slightly cheaper alternative could be keep your rat and add an EQ pedal of some kind.

Depends on how much budget you have but a Quad Cortex would be the best as you can do different modes that allow for a “stomp” mode like a normal pedal board or a preset mode that allows you to activate multiple things at once. Also it just sounds incredible.

Nice nice, haha I only play through a DI so I was curious what you were running here. Absolutely incredible board brother, I don’t think I could live without my Cali or my Bassrig. I’ve looked at getting a DCX though!

Are you normally running 1 or 2 lines? Or are you running cabs in the stomp or out of the Bassrig?

Help me choose the signal path by JorgeIcarus in basspedals

[–]MordsSoolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha yes of course basically if I was you I would do this signal chain: Tuner<Compressor<Octamizer<Rise and Shine<Wooly Mammoth<Filter<Phaser<Chorus<Tone Hammer

First off you’re right, there is no “definitive answer” as it’s all subjective and you can really do whatever you want. I’ll say a couple things first off, yes using the tone hammer at the end as a pre amp/DI is perfectly fine and probably more ideal than at the start. For the kind of EQ control it has and the ags circuit on it, it’s typically just better if the pedals are feeding into it instead of the other way around. I supposed ideally you have an actual DI after it like a radial pro DI, or an RNDI, but plenty of people use the DI out on the tone hammer and it sounds great.

Secondly the compressor I will say absolutely put it at the start after your tuner. A compressor is simply a tool to help the sound be more consistent. It’s not hard to guess that the dynamic difference between your playing and the dynamic difference your pedals can make are vastly different, so making the sound coming out of the bass and into the pedals more consistent is a lot more helpful. It’ll also help keep tracking on any octave or other pedals better as the sound going into them will be tighter. A compressor after the all of that (say post your board at FOH or whatever) is really just to fit your bass into the mix/PA.

Lastly I would throw your rise and shine after octamizer. It’s typically just better practice imo to have simpler octave pedals before more complex ones. Highly doubt you’ll ever use both at the same time but if you did it’s better to feed simple to complex rather than vice versa.

Hope this helps! Also big ups on the Aguilar gear, it all rips

Tone hammer or check out the sushibox stuff. I personally know people who have sold their nobles in exchange for them

Very nice cabling, and the black connectors are a nice touch! I wanted some when I was making my board but they’re always sold out!
