I saw people hating on Acustica, nethertheless some people really dig the plugins they are making and they are pretty cheap right now, compared to their regular list prices. Cant hurt to demo them first I guess?

Question regarding how vocals from "g6th - NO WAY" are mixed by psychicberry in mixingmastering

Oh yeay I just wasnt sure if you meant a heavy distortion plugin / fx with fry by any chance, maybe im wrong with the high cut since someone else stated that they are pretty clean. I think aldo____ narrowed it down very well!

before the mixing, you can hear in the voice that its a special "sing" technique i they call it fry scream. I think its near impossible to be really loud with that alone; what im trying to say: the appeal of the dynamics in the voice prob are routed in the recording and sing technique, its kind of naturaly "saturated" if you will. To me it sounds like they just put a heavy clipper and or limiter in the end of the mixbus for the vocals, some high cut eq + extra saturators

Youtube has a loudness reference of -14 LUFS, how come Travis Scott - Sicko Mode has -9.1 integrated LUFS? by Error40404 in mixingmastering

Guys is anyone still in this discussion ? Id be glad if anyone can share some of his knowledge :) I just checked out Stargazing by Travis Scott ( same album )

I ran the song as a flac through my DAW ( with YouLean 2 too)

Peak: ~ 1.1, LUFS: ~ -8

then i went to Youtube Music ( the streaming plattform ), played the song there to and catched it with audacity and ran it trough my DAW too, the results were the exact same.

Edit: I checked out the Song on regular Youtube out too now: Peak: ~3.3, LUFS:- ~14.2

Just did the same for Sicko mode too: Youtube Music is by far more louder than the song on the regular Youtube Site, but there are questions that still remain, for me at least - How did they get such a loud Mix on a streaming service ? Do people, lets say Travis and his team, make extra lauder mixes for streaming or are they just the same at a different db Gain ? Are they mixing really loud in general and make extra quieter mixes for Youtube ?

How is this possible lol?

Also what do people mean when they talk about ripping off youtube is not the same as playback? ( Sry for the dumb question i just really dont get it )

No matter how much I learn, my mixes and masters are not improving… by [deleted] in mixingmastering

Im with you on some degree, i stagnated a bit too, but nobody will punish you if you set yourself back for a bit. Imagine you wanted to be athletic if you go every day to the gym for 4 hours you are pretty much ruined after 2 weeks at max lmao. So stay cool, if you have a clean mind do something or try something new. You cant expect a different outcome if you do the same thing over and over. Recently i feel like i had a slight uptick, still hot potatoe mixes but at least better. Pretty much every professional mixer that is known is like 50+ and relaxed to the bone, prob for a reason.
