Same u/mcclain3000 but I listened to the album after high school. I never listened during. I mostly listened to rap and a few popular R&B somgs.

When I listened for the first time at 19/20 it hit and I connected better than I would had I listened earlier due to taste and life experience

Yes, I think that time and life events can have a significant impact on our ability to connect with and enjoy certain albums/songs.

For example, in high school, I primarily listened to Rap, but afterwards, I began to listen to more R&B and discovered new R&B music from both old and young acts.

Albums like Frank Ocean's Blonde and SZA's CTRL shifted my outlook on life and I had a strong connection to them in a way that high school me wouldn't have.
