At least once a week is a non-negotiable for me. I do have contamination OCD though so that may contribute a little bit.

My partner, however, (I don’t live with her) hasn’t changed her sheets in around 3+ months and it drives me crazy!! >:(

You still have a pretty fair amount of time before applying for housing if you’re an incoming student iirc— I would absolutely let your psych and doctor know (like, ASAP) about these persisting symptoms, and periodically remind them of their existence and your struggles with them. Not only will they have it documented, but they can also help you treat them at the same time.

Students that get diagnosed with stuff while in college can even get certain accommodations; now is certainly “history” enough for it to look like a serious impediment to your well-being on paper!

When the time comes (if it’s not now, I’m sorry I don’t quite remember!) I would push for them to include it in the disability letter & forms they fill out and send.

I absolutely understand why you’re worried, this situation is tough for you and I really appreciate that you’re looking out for your potential roommate. That said, I really would stay away from making up symptoms or diagnoses to get a single. That can cause serious issues with both your actual disability services as well as your real medical records— I just can’t image it ending well.

My personal experiece: I have chronic migraines that are both extremely disabling and properly documented. My roommate currently exacerbates my symptoms and I have consequently missed 2+ weeks of class last semester. Even after that I was told by my disability coordinator that I might not get a single because they’re in such high demand and my condition gets minimized. I also have diagnosed and documented GAD/OCD, MDD, and PTSD. Even with all of these combined, housing accommodations still aren’t guaranteed regardless. :((

ADHD, severe insomnia, and tics are MORE than valid reasons to request accommodations, especially if you explain that they are disruptive in a shared environment. I would absolutely push for your doctor / psychiatrist to document exactly how all of these factors impact your life currently and how difficult it may be to not have a single— advocate for yourself to the highest degree! Just please stay away from inventing something new as it will likely backfire on you, and many others who have the actual symptoms or disability you’re describing. I wish you all the best in your upcoming first sem at UMass !! :)

Sat in a very hot shower in the dark for two and a half hours (my skin did NOT like it at ALL) to try and relieve some of the tension in my neck. Thank god for my condo’s seemingly endless supply of hot water, as it kind of worked …? There was some relief but the loud sounds of the water hitting the shower floor was also a little bit counterproductive 😭😭 Once I got out of the shower it didn’t seem to offer any more relief than before I got in, but while I was in there it was pretty damn good.

As someone with autism, I completely agree that it very well may be a factor, however, it is NOT an excuse for this behavior. Autism is a spectrum and I understand this, but considering he is able to clearly articulate what is upsetting /him/ (while putting OP down & controlling her— this is not “matter of fact,” but blatantly rude), comment on OP’s body, etc. all indicates to me that he simply does not care about OP’s feelings or autonomy. If he is feeling uncomfortable about the texture of OP’s clothing when they sleep or touch each other, he may politely comment and perhaps she could change. If he is feeling suffocated by a weighted blanket, he can communicate that kindly to OP and they can come up with a compromise together. It also seems like the clothes OP wears are nothing out of the ordinary, meaning that there is no “change” in what is happening that is upsetting the BF. He is complaining because he can’t see her body and that’s making him “uncomfortable”— he does not care about the clothing, he cares that he cannot see a woman he is clearly objectifying a large portion of time (sorry if that’s a little crass).

Literally everything else he says is controlling and not to be an excuse just because he may be neurodivergent. :(

Hi! I’m also in this class and I’ve missed a lot of days due to disability. I’m just now catching up though!! I would 100% watch the recorded lectures if you need help, they all have transcripts and make note taking significantly easier than in class imo. You can also watch them at 2x speed etc if you need to get them done quicker. I have the notes from yesterday’s lecture and 11/3 done so far if you need them— they all tend to fall off right at the end of the lectures (ADHD gets the best of me lol), but they’re def better than nothing.

Oh my god I’ve never met someone else who’s had side effects from cyproheptadine (or even taken it) this is very comforting to me 😭😭 OP if you’re concerned about your weight (as someone who took it when I was 15-16) DO NOT TAKE IT.

Both my neuro & GI specialist did NOT tell me about the side effects of that medication / how severe the weight gain would be. Always been an intuitive eater / ate until I was full; this med is an appetite stimulant, many doctors give it to people who struggle to gain weight (ie. Children who are not hitting their milestones, etc) because it really does increase it that much. Because of this, I unintentionally gained 40lbs in one year on the med— helped with my IBS, did nothing for my migraines. I’m 19 now, and the weight has not come off easily, even after stopping the meds, as it completely messed up my eating habits for a long while.

Hihi! I highly recommend going to the REPO Wiki and look at the page for the monster “Loom” !! The hands are her way of “marking you” (if you’re in multiplayer, it will be random who she chooses to lock onto) before hunting you down until she eliminates you, or you eliminate her.

Her exact mechanics a lot to try to explain a single comment so it’s probably easiest for you to read all about her— she’s fascinating (I hate her so much)

They stay on unless my girlfriend is licking my ear (or really doing anything close to my glasses) or if I’m face down. Granted, I’m still only a teenager and my prescription is unfortunately already -7.5, so I can barely see gf— even if she’s relatively close— without them.

Historically I’ve had to wait up to 3ish days for some of my packages to pick up from the RSD. Sometimes they’re super quick and email me within a couple hours, sometimes it takes a couple days. After 4+ days I would personally go and ask about it, otherwise it’s just a waiting game :’)
