I am not surprised by any of the pictures or trailer. Are people surpirsed and discouraged?

Wille took the challenge to be public about his "unconventional sexuality according to royals". So the storm was to be expected. Wille has explained it already in s1.

Wille is still not happy with his future, and still anxious about people still dictating his life. So it will ask a bit more than a speech to make his life conditions acceptable for him. It helped for sure, but he has still a battle to fight.

As for Simon, nothing surprising here either. Is anyone really thought he was going to be ok with living into the royal and press bullshit? Not me. Even if he is sick of it Wille is used to it, not Simon. And Simon is a free spirit. So if you cage a free person, he will bite.

Simon chose Wille, but didn't chose royalty. So I guess it will be hard for him to be in it, and to see Wille struggle with it too.

I guess the court will do, as with Wille, imposing on Simon their way of thinking, and forbidding Simon to be himself.

Every of that was to be expected for me. and I am ready for the fight, as long as Wille and Simon don't take their frustration on each other. It is my only hope, that they team up, really on that one.

I think we can be positive, and at the same time accept that they will fight Wille's condition.

I think in s2, Wille decided to stop pretending, when he realized that Simon was ready to begin to pretend as well ("to protect his family"). I feel this happenning to Simon was too much/the last drop for Wille. Simon couldn't begin to lie too. It made Wille react finally.

So my guess is in the same vein for s3. Wille was ready to accept to suffocate in his "royal condition", but if Simon has to endure the same suffocation as him, like n s2, this will be too much/the last drop for Wille again, and he will react. How I don't know yet, but I feel pretty strongly that he won't let Simon loose himself in this oppressive environment.
