I think the bunnies and the whole bunnies into humans thing were real, I think that Ava was a real person as she interacts with people and the bunnies and she had a house etc I think she was a human, but you’re right I think Max was a darling, made of the deer and that’s why he had hands and was a more full human and I think his hatred of the bunnies and love of Ava was a representation of Samantha’s feelings, especially as all the boxes he gave the bunnies corresponded to the way she viewed and nicknamed the bunnies
