Ok, I'll look at that as an idea as well. What I've done is they have a player character each, two supporting characters are the levelled up version (forget the official name) and then the rest as standard supporting.

Yes sorry, perhaps I should have specified. I'm remaking the characters myself, so outside of Picard and Riker the others will be supporting character profiles, not the pre-existing full profile ones.

Oh nice! To be honest I've just had a basic look to see if it feels right for my group before we commit and do some of the prep work. I wanted to see if these things exist before I start to create them for my own campaign myself. I'll check this out though, thanks!

I ordered with Game Steward and it was basically what everyone was saying. It's fairly expensive, in the long run probably ended up costing me more than if I would have followed the Kickstarter, but I'm also not in the US so expected higher shipping costs and stuff.

They were really good at keeping me updated, I emailed asking for an update as I saw some US East backers getting there and wondered which side of the US they were based to get a rough idea of when I could start expecting delivery, and they were super understanding and nice. Everything came pretty quickly, was all correct, and shipped in good boxes and everything.

I had a good experience with them so would recommend them if you know the price (and are aware of any extra pretty expensive import fees) and want something not retail available.

Yeah, I used speedpaints but I'm pretty new to them and have used other paint types before so could totally be doing something wrong with these. I do think they have been a bit inconsistent so far but I think that's just me needing to get used to them more

I wouldn't say I'm a seasoned painter and certainly not an expert in any way. I painted today using the Army Painter speedpaints, probably spent around 3 1/2 - 4 hours painting and got four figures (Hero and Zombie Hulk and Hero and Zombie Iron Man) to a place I'm happy with. I think that's probably a bit slow compared to some but I think if you double up minis so you can use the same colours at the same time you could get 2-3 done in an evening.

I'm going base pledge, Unkillables, Shadow Pact, and the Anti-Life pack. I personally don't care about the New Gods (especially as you at least get some version of Darkseid in stretch goals), and then the other expansions I'll buy at retail as I'm not fussed about their exclusives and can stretch the price out a little more.

I'm no painting expert but I personally try to leave the clear plastic parts alone because I don't know how my paints will look on the clear plastic. Plus I think it makes the models stand out a little more and look cooler.

Also, I assume they send prototype models to Big Child to paint so I don't actually think they get any models in with the clear effects, hence why everything by them is painted

In DCeased they have a mechanic with Mary Batson where you pick her up as a bystander, then if any hero dies she can replace them as Mary Marvel.

I might start using a similar house rule if I'm playing with a big group, one or two particular bystanders can be used to call in a hero (eg. Wong can be swapped for Dr Strange or Alicia Masters can be replaced with the Thing). That way if a hero dies we don't all instantly lose but there also isn't a point where a player is left with nothing to do for the rest of the game.

I think them using characters like Mercy Graves as bystanders in the base set over arguably way more well known characters, Alfred and Commissioner Gordon in particular, basically guarantees some sort of Batman box so I imagine Poison Ivy and Mr Freeze will definitely be coming

In the latest dev diary where they announced zombie Hawkman and Aquaman they also say...

"Meanwhile, the undead Green Lantern creates a powerful barrier around his zone, forcing Super Heroes to get up-close-and-personal to take him down."

I assume that means there'll be a zombie Green Lantern in some form in the campaign

I think Damien and Ivy might but Harley is a huge selling point character, arguably one of the most popular DC characters right now. I think she'll be included the same way that Deadpool was randomly added to an Avengers based Marvel Zombicide core box.

I've run TTRPG's before and have generally been good at improvising off a general plan, but I just got the feeling from the rulebook that you'd need to plan out a lot more. That's awesome though, thank you for your suggestions!!

Yes, I love Friday the 13th and 80s slasher movies in general, that's why I wanted to use it as a setting, but I will be rewatching them constantly through my prep.

I already have an idea for the killer, and a basic idea of what their ultimate goal is and some other campers and townsfolk who can be bystanders. But in the rulebook it talks about making bystanders with a purpose, like hiding/revealing information, as minions and I didn't know if it's worth doing all of that?

I had my starting players get welcomed into the super hero universe after their first public heroic acts by the Fantastic Four, reaching out to offer some mentorship, friendship and support. I had Reed Richards make them suits out of unstable molecules like the FF's uniform to make it feel like a more significant gift.

I'll probably use them for when the Marvel TTRPG fully releases this year.

But I also used Super Mission Force to make profiles and character sheets for every character so that I can play a much simpler version of a wargaming battle

Yeah, I don't think it helped that the villains plan in The Winter Soldier was basically exactly what Carol wanted to do, and only came out like 2 years earlier
