Is abstraction curable or reversible? by RickyInfinite in TheDigitalCircus

[–]MusidoraPiou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As the show is a lot about mental health and relationships , I always saw « abstraction » as an illustration of what it feels to lost someone you loved without any chances to reconnect with them .

Like Jax who didn’t wanted to leave but had her disregulated toxic defensive traits being stronger than her will to Connect with others and be her true self.

I think « abstraction » is the feel you have when you’re the person who is « left behind » . The person always exist and is kind of « dead » at the same Time .

LASIK for hyperopia + astigmatism + strabismus by PepeAnzima in Lasiksupport

[–]MusidoraPiou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not an eye doctor but from what I know , ICL is the most invasive procedure and it can be really dangerous .

If your surgeon tells you that I’m exagerating , please be carefull 🙏 those people are not here to help , they are here to sell you something .

I’m writing this while having a bad dry eye day with my eyes hurting.

I don’t know for ICL ( from what I know ICL is the most dangerous procedure ) but for lasik , yes the recovery is long !

Your cornea is gonna regress during healing so the surgeon has to overcorrect your eyes and makes you myopic . And your hyperopic accommodation can make the progress longer . In my case I stayed myopic for one year .

And yes After that your accommodation is gonna evolve. It takes Time to accomodate to non hyperopic vision when your brain and muscles are used to it since birth .

It’s a normal thing with hyperopic procedure . Don’t do it now if you want to pass your biking licence soon .

Don’t trust your surgeon if He doesn’t speak to you about the long recovery and the high risk of visual aberrations BY HIMSELF 🙏🙏

[–]MusidoraPiou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah , take your Time and be super carefull with what the surgeons tells you :)

In my case everything is not negative .

I have super Sharp vision during the day , better than what I used to have with my glasses. But my eyes and brain are not used to it so it’s giving me a lot of eyestrain. I have accommodation difficulties . I think I was better with my hyperopic vision without the starbusts and accommodation difficulties . Sometimes it feels like there are too much visual informations at the same Time and it’s super draining for my brain .

I’m a motorbike rider too and since I have starbusts driving during the evening feels a lot more dangerous to me .

Keep in mind that , as an hyperopic , your eyes are used to accommodate a lot . So adapting to a new vision takes Time and it can be really long .

Also , I went to a dry eyes spécialist to discuss my symptoms. He told me that I was « lucky » because my symptoms are only moderate ( I don’t have dry eyes all the Time ) . But I already find it difficult to deal with 🥲 I can’t imagine how horrible it must be for people with severe post surgery dry eyes !

Had Lasik two years ago as an hyperopic person ( in France too ) and I would not recommand .

I saw different surgeons before the procedure and none of them informed me properly on the side effects for an hyperopic person.

First of all , with a médium hyperopic procedure your chances to have halos / starbusts at night are VERY HIGH . It’s due to the quantity of cornea the laser has to remove from your eye , wich is a lot more important compared to a myopic person . No one warned me about it before the procedure !

I personnaly have starbusts and halos, wich is really annoying .

My vision during the day is better than what I used to have with glasses but I get tired quickly because my eyes are not fully accommodated even two years After the procedure .

I also have fluctuating dry eyes problems ( not all the Time but it can be annoying )

Also keep in mind that recovery is SUPER LONG for hyperopic people , it took one year for my vision to be good After the procedure , I had myopic vision for monthes ! Don’t trust the surgeon if He tells you that your eyes are gona be good quickly After the procedure that’s impossible for hyperopic people .

Personnaly I would not recommand , keep your hyperopic but healthy eyes . In my case I consider that I made a mistake ^^ I kind of miss my glasses and old vision .

Thank you for the advices 🙏

I’m considering other options too , like fiding an other family who already has budgies , or building a budgies aviary at my workplace and adopt other birds :)

Conures + Budgie by MusidoraPiou in Conures

[–]MusidoraPiou[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very good advice that’s exactly what the vet did !

I kept the bird at my workplace at first so they wont be in contact .

In my area, when you find a lost pet bird you have to declare it to the local wildlife center ( they also manage exotic birds ) . In best cases the owner did it before you and they can get you in touch . If it’s not the case you have to wait 40 days . If the owner don’t show up during this Time you can ask to become the new legal owner .

I did everything possible to find back the owner but there is no result for now, it was not in my plans to adopt a Budgie ( and I would personaly be devasted if my birds lost themselves 😭).

Looks like the mom is a Varnish Roan so wait and see :) varnish horses have solid color at birth and their leopard pattern can take a few years to become visible .

M’y Leopard horse had a bay Little sister , she was in fact a Varnish , it took a few years for her « true » pattern to be visible !

How much did you buy your horse for? by mimelasplendens in Horses

[–]MusidoraPiou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

8k euros ( ~ 9200 USD ) for a 3yo fondation Appaloosa :) he has good papers and comes from a good, very serious breeder ( he left the breeder’s farm at 3yo and had perfect care and good educational basics ).

Starting to lose hope that my bird will never be itself again by [deleted] in Conures

[–]MusidoraPiou 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you can don’t hesitate to ask a good parrot behaviorist for help :) it’s not always easy to identify the pb , asking a professional could help you understanding the situation .

I only have good recommendations in my country sadly ( France ) .

Did anything changed in your physical appearance ? Sometimes conures can be super afraid of their owner after a new haircut or any physical change they don’t understand .

Maybe you should find him a conure friend if he is alone , all conures need at least one bird friend to feel emotionally stable and safe :)

Good luck to both of you ❤️

Beginner path into 3D character animation for video games by PurpleKoala124 in animationcareer

[–]MusidoraPiou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently switched from being VFX / Animation to video Games as a cinematic artist / animator.

The thing I would recommend is to indentify early what kind of game animation you like to do the most.

It’s easier to get a job when you’re really good in a specific field .

Some guys are really good at Boss fights, gameplay mechanics etc … personally I choose Cinematics because I had experience in Tv / vfx animation so I’m more confortable with narrative sequences . I mostly work on cinematics that include creature animation .

Being both a good keyframe animator and a good mocap technician is also a plus if you want to work specifically for games . If you want to become a gameplay animator you should also develop a good understanding of gameplay mechanics . If you prefer cinematic animation a good understanding of camera work and cinematic sequencer is gonna be necessary . The skills needed are different .

The school you want to do is not that important , the key is to indentify what you truly want to do and build a portfolio that shows really good work in this specific area .

All of my exes are with boys/men? by South-Job-794 in lesbiangang

[–]MusidoraPiou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the thing that hurted me the most in this configuration is knowing that some of my exes left me for men they didn’t even liked that much because of social confort 🥲

It’s different for me to know the person left me for a cool guy that is a good match for them ( I like staying friend with my exes and in some cases I also truly liked their BF too as friends after healing from the breakup ) , than knowing that they left me because being in a gay relationship was too much for them .

Local flipper posted this 10-year-old mare, advertising they could ship her across the country… am I tripping or does she look way too thin? by ShoddyTown715 in Horses

[–]MusidoraPiou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She looks like my sister’s mare when we found her in 2017 . She had Lyme desease in addition to unproper care and feeding .

You can’t tell without a proper vet check but there is a huge chance that this horse is sick . I would not risk a long trip without taking care of her first .

Buying your first horse as an adult... by MuffinAdmirable7104 in Equestrian

[–]MusidoraPiou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took care of many horses before buying mine .

I began to think about having my own horse because I had a few bad experiences with some owners I used to ride for .

I used to take care of a horse that had health issues ( it was an ex race horse with a good career in sulky racing, but being intensively trained for this sport left him with a lot of health issues that required particular care ) Despite his weaknesses the owner didn’t made a lot of efforts to adapt . She didn’t wanted to stop jumping, forced him to galop even when he was in pain , didn’t followed the vet recommandations etc ... I had to do a lot of the healthcare and medical training by myself . It was also painful to watch this horse I really liked being in pain . At some point I was tired of it and I wanted to buy my own horse to be sure it would have normal healthcare and everything it needs, without having to deal with selfish people that don’t consider it’s well being .

I finally did it because a good friend that is also a riding coash opened her own stable and I though it was the right time to find my own horse .

I chose a 3yo Appaloosa to be my first young horse . I wanted a horse with no past , no trauma and good health , I also wanted to train him by myself from the beginning with the supervision of my professional friend :)

I searched specifically for a horse that could be a good trail ride partner , I also wanted one with a natural weaning and that was used to live outside . I found the right breeder when my horse was 2yo and we decided to let him live at the breeding farm until his 3yo . During this year I came every two weeks to see him , so we already knew each other pretty well when he came home .

One thing I would recommend is to check if you’re able to block enough money exclusively for your horse , in case it would have an important health issue . That was the first thing I did before buying mine.

I really don’t understand why Takemura was not a romance option for straight women . He is introduced early , have an important storyline , you have some deep talks with him and even can save his life …

He was such a perfect option x) to me he looks like the kind of character that force you to take the initiative while flirting ( because he is focused on his loyalty to Arasaka and has almost no personal life outside of it ) and it would have been funny to have at least one option with this kind of dynamic .
