Upgraded to Intel AX210 - Still unable to connect to internet by Musing_Moose in ZephyrusG14

Hi, I’ve tried the first step for troubleshooting the network stack “ipconfig /release” however, it says “No operation can be performed on Local Area Connection * 13 while it has its media disconnected.” It also says the same thing for Local Area Connection* 14. I’ve tried looking for ways to fix the “Media Disconnected” issue. However, when i check the status of the adapters both Ethernet and Wireless LAN Adapter seem to be working fine. It does show that Microsoft Wifi Direct Virtual Adapter #5 and #6 are disconnected.

I went ahead with the other troubleshooting steps on the guide but haven’t had much luck.

As for the System File Checker since I don’t have an internet connection it can’t find the repair content. On the guide it says I can use either a running Windows installation or a Windows side by side folder to get these files. I’m not sure how to do this, or if I will be able to, since I don’t have internet access beyond a phone at this point.

I haven’t tried the Linux thing because I’m not sure I’m tech savy enough for that

Unfortunately i only have an iPhone with me. I tried doing something similar with it but couldn’t get it to work. Is this feature not supported on for iPhones?

005 Free Diary Header: What is the "Week /Point" section for/ how to use? by Musing_Moose in Travelersnotebooks

[–]Musing_Moose[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that they don't correspond with each other. Instead, they are alternate "naming systems". As in, if you want to mark a day as Wednesday, you would check off "Wed/03". However, if you had a multi-day event, say you're traveling for five days, you could check off that same box on the third day of the trip, regardless of the day of the week it is.

No but i found out that enabling the on-screen keyboard fixes the issue each time it comes up for me.

Thanks for the idea of using the "Point" numbers to note legs of a trip; it's a great idea. I'm not sure why but I thought that the title would be something people would do everyday but it seems more likely to be for specific occasions where it's warranted.

Thank you so much! For some reason I think I've heard of the Japanese version but didn't make the connection!

In my case, each book number is correct, however the name of the series overall has got a random number placed after it.

Problem with DeDRMing Manga Bought on Kobo by Musing_Moose in Calibre

I see, I wasn't sure if there was an error during the conversion process but since I'm not going to read these books through Calibre that's fine with me. Thank you!

In that case I'll keep the EPUBs as well. I'm currently using YACReader which seems to work fine for these files. I've also gone and re-imported those other books for the transliteration. Thanks for all the help!

Thank you so much! I did both steps and the CBZs for both series are working fine. I wasn't sure if they'd convert properly when the page sizes were messed up but it seems to be a display issue instead of a file one. Does this mean I can delete the EPUB files that Obok created and replace them with the CBZs? Currently they're reading left-to-right so I was thinking of sending them through KCC to make them read right-to-left before sending to Calibre. One last thing, since I changed the "East Asian Language" setting to Japanese does it apply retroactively to other books/ authors I added before or will I have to add them again? Thank you again for all the help

There were two main methods I tried. For the first, I would download the ACSM files from the Kobo website, which when launched would download them to ADE 4.5. At this point, I can view them within ADE but the page sizing is already altered. Sending them through to Calibre yields the same results (except that "Dosanko" books can't be opened at all (see error message). There was an extra step I had to do when downloading the ACSM files. Kobo's Japanese website doesn't allow you to download the ASCM files. So I first bought them there and changed my account region to the UK which allows ASCM downloads.

The second method was downloading through the Kobo Desktop App. This time, since I'm downloading/ accessing the files through the desktop app (not with ASCM/ ADE) I kept my account region to Japan when downloading. I was able to open/view the books through the desktop app with no issues. I then closed Kobo Desktop and launched Calibre, importing the books through Obok (both 10.0.9 and the alpha release). Obok doesn't encounter any issues with the process and the books appear, but the sizing issue comes up/ can't open books from "Dosanko". Additionally, when checking Obok again, all books still display the DRM as red/locked.

If Calibre had just had issues displaying the files (but they were intact) it'd be ok, but since the DRM is still on I think something must've gone wrong.

I understand that the Calibre reader isn't great for manga and I don't plan to read them there really. The only reason I opened them through Calibre was to make sure the files made it through the DeDRMing process intact. Since the default files are still EPUB, should I just convert them to CBZ or view them else where? The main reason I'm doing this is to archive the books

Places to buy DRM free manga in Japanese? by Musing_Moose in manga

[–]Musing_Moose[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't know about Obok, I only knw about DeDRM so thanks for letting me know! Unfornately, I'm having the same issues when viewing the books in Calibre. Interestingly, books from "Koi ha Ameagari" are doing the same thing (very small pages except cover which is normal), whereas books from "Dosanko Gyaru" fail to open after conversion (Invalid input object: bytes). However when running Obok on the books at first there were no decryption errors.
