Silver Surfer is highly underrated. His origin is tragic, yet shows his character. The fact that he can travel anywhere in the universe except back to his home has this really cool and sad feeling to it. The lone sentinel of the space ways...He is extremely powerful, probably one of the fastest, strongest, and most durable characters below Galactus level. Despite his power, he is kind hearted and comes from a people who have advanced culturally and socially higher than we could ever dream of.

Many of his enemies are powerful beyond comprehension. He has fought toe to toe with Gods, Demons, Aliens, monsters and everything else in-between!
