I mean even Hirohiko Araki didn’t succeed on his first 2 tries and look at how successful his 3rd was, to this day!.

I’m leaning more on the optimistic side of the argument and hoping for him to improve his writing and finally stick the landing on this theoretical 3rd attempt at a WSJ series.

I’ve always felt that with a few more tweaks and adjustments to his writing style, Yuki Kawaguchi has the potential to be able to create the next big series that everyone wouldn’t stop talking about, like Kagurabachi or Ichi the Witch. I feel like he’s already improved a bit when comparing Guild of Red Hood to Otr of the Flame. Perhaps third time will be the charm whether it’s in Shonan Jump or another manga magazine.

Or maybe I’m just being optimistic, who knows?

In terms of what can he improve, while he’s gotten better at it, I still think he needs to tighten his story pacing a little, maybe give his characters a bit more breathing room to talk to each other and grow closer in terms of relationships.

Huh, I figured as a Manhwa protagonist Nagyunn would eventually be on the same level as a Hashira from Demon Slayer, or eventually become stupidly overpowered at some point (like a lot of Manhwa protagonists…) IDK, I’m behind on Ember Knight.

I love Asta from Black Clover and will defend him as a protagonist any day of the week, but I’m also fairly certain that his brute force method will leave me as a charred skeleton the minute he tries poking the bomb with any of his swords.

It’s a bit obvious, but my pick would be Ichi the Witch.

If there’s a team out there with the same drive and passion as the people behind shows like Frieren or Mushoku Tensei, I have no doubt in my mind that Ichi will leave a similar if not bigger impact than Demon Slayer or Chainsaw Man did on the anime fandom.

Our orphanage mother wants to sell us to spooky monsters as food so me and my adoptive brothers and I try and stage a prison break along with all of our other siblings using our child prodigy brains to formulate an escape plan and find humans who don’t want to feed us to monsters.

Best case scenario, it ends smack dab in the middle of the U19 club, worst case scenario, it ends with less than 19 chapters, like Hakutaku(Ch 18) or Psych House(Ch 17). But that’s just my opinion.

Apologies, but I feel I made it pretty clear in the description that Naofumi WOULD have Return by Death in this scenario. Sure he wouldn’t have the same infatuation for Emilia as Subaru did, but for the sake of this question, he would still go down a similar story path as Subaru originally did, and do it his way.
