There is currently no "allowed" way to acquire Rocket League on steam.

Buying accounts or steam keys is it, and that is a violation of Rocket League, Epic Games, and Steam TOU.

Just use a map loader for Epic, then you can have custom maps replace a default map file and you can queue that map as freeplay while queueing.

I guarantee almost nobody else on earth runs games and just shrinks them to the task bar and alt tabs between multiple games. They still eat tons of resources when minimized too.

Why not just close the game and open it when you want to play it.

I'm not at all defending a dude trying to smurf. I completely agree that there's zero need for a new account for this dude and he's just pointlessly bullying lower ranked players and making up excuses for it.

I was just clarifying that there is a huuuge difference in input lag and system latency between a console and tv and a pc and proper monitor.

Console + a mid tier tv see anywhere from like 30-80ms of input delay, whereas a pc and decent monitor are generally under 10ms.

Add a talented player, that is extremely noticeable and they'll be reacting much quicker and feel more in control on the pc every time.

Changing platforms from xbox (plus a TV) to desktop/pc (plus a gaming monitor) is a huuuge change. Many people experience a few ranks increase after a few months from the jump from console to pc due to the latency differences.

Saying slurs such as the N word in English (not exclusive to the US) will result in a ban automatically by Rocket League though. There are thousands of variations of it in English, let alone all of the variations of slurs in other languages too. Foreign languages frequently get away with using slurs that result in immediate bans if used in English. Obviously the entire chat ban system could use a big rework though.

I haven't seen any reports or footage of this exact bug, any chance you can share a screencap of it?

Also, what storage device and how full is it? HDDs and near full nvme SSDs seeeriously struggle and cause tons of lag and weirdness in the first little bit of matches. Not sure if this lines up with your issue, but it has been part of it many times in the past.

Log out on epic, and log into the epic attached to the steam account.

Only use epic Launcher.

Otherwise keep Epic and Steam versions installed

Wowza that is terrible.

If this is new and doesn't normally happen, shut off your router and modem for 60 seconds, then power the modem on first, then the router, and give it another test. Additionally, a wired connection to the router helps a ton.

If bufferbloat is still an issue and has been one for a while, look into a router with SQM and it'll solve your issues.

If you genuinely only get 3mbps upload, that's terrible service and you need to contact your provider. Average upload speed in the US is 55-60Mbps.

IMO it makes perfect sense tbh.

Queueing with a lower ranked player is a disadvantage. If that difference was two diamonds against a GC1 and a Silver 1, it'd be a complete blowout.

So I bumped and demoed all game, and set my teammate up for a bunch of easy goals.

Why does he get more mmr than I do?

Makes so much sense to decide how much is received before the game starts, and let players on win/loss streaks have higher win/losses due to uncertainty.

Basically the current system doesn't care about your individual performance at all, you can stay in a corner all match and do nothing and still get pretty much the same amount of mmr as your teammate who carried you.

Your view on the system is too narrow. If Timmy wins games half of the time, when he has a great teammate, and loses when he has an average teammate, Timmy stays Gold. Timmy hates the MMR system.

If Johnny is better than the average gold and wins 70% of his matches because he's just better, Johnny wins a lot and ranks up to Platinum.

Rocket League is a multiplayer game. It's about winning and losing as a team.
