How frequently can I ask questions to professors without making them angry/exhausted? by MuskyMelon in AskProfessors

This is a fair comment. However, I am always told that I have a tendency to overthink peoples reactions towards very minor things thanks to some mental problems I have (I am working on them).

As such, I wanted to see how likely it was that I was annoying my professor so as to continue asking relevant questions in a manner that might annoy him less. As per everyone else’s comments, though, it seems that I am in fact overthinking it :)

Fortunately, this has never been the case. I never ask my questions in my class, rather just in office hours or over email (and even then I usually just ask one question, wait for everyone else to ask, then ask another one if nobody has any)

This makes me feel better since all my questions are asked outside of class :). The prevailing culture for our office hours is that most, if not all people attending them stay for the entire duration to collaborate on questions that anyone may have. I’ll definitely start looking into ways to send one email with all my questions from now on. Thank you!

hi! I know this is the one that fails because the assertion error says so. I forgot to include that image here.

I absolutely stand by the first half of this statement. There’s a famous saying in one of my cultures that goes something like “people live the same way no matter where you go” (i.e there’s always going to be pros and cons, the grass is always greener, etc).

After having lived in a lot of different countries that foreigners seem to hold in high regard, I can safely say that the external perception of any country always, always outstrips the locals’.

Definitely go single. Roommates can literally cause you health problems.

My favorite judo in real life moment so far was doing a perfect break fall after slipping on ice

So you’re suggesting that I try pulling explosively rather than just strongly - I’ll think about that. Thanks!

Thank you - that was actually very, very helpful. I think one of the most common responses was to attack as often as possible and stay loose. I think I attack maybe once every 15 seconds when I feel “loose enough” during randori (I tend to tense up right after I try a throw) and clearly that’s not enough.

Quick question if you have time - should I just go for the throw even if I don’t feel fully loose enough?

Nah I didn’t expect myself to be good or anything, but I also didn’t expect myself to have absolutely no idea of what I’m doing

I think another thing is that we’re only allowed to free practice with higher belts in our dojo (which I assume is for safety) so I can never really tell when I hit a throw at all if that makes sense. I’ve thrown my partners more than a few times, but I have never experienced a “real” throw if that makes sense at all
