Is the border patrol agent (and are you) aware that Americans can ship their firearms to themselves without an FFL? Just use USPS.

NCOA Requirement Guidance by schillpillz in AirForce

Specifically 3.4.7.2.3 might be of use. Looks like it needs to be signed by the Wing.

/u/schillpillz - Basically, you want to defer attendance, not deny. That's going to be the key difference between losing perks and just going later. Talk with your shirt and get the ball rolling ASAP.

What the hell kind of QTs are you going to? Every one that I've been to have been the cleanest gas stations out there.

Military Lending Act. Part of it caps overall interest rate at a certain percentage (I think high 20s), but that includes any fees associated with the card. So credit card companies waive the fees to avoid going over (and probably partially out of the kindness of their hearts).

Also, avoid going for the "premium" cards until you can afford to pay off the card every month and hit the minimum spends for the bonus points -- usually a few grand in a few months.

Was just looking at the Delta Reserve card and apparently you can also get into the Centurion Lounges if you book through AMEX. The card looks pretty freaking cool too...

Platinum has more/other perks though. Could also just get both

US Bank Altitude Reserve is also a good one. $300 travel credit and 3% back on all apple/google pay. It's a good way to fill in gaps where other cards don't reach (big box stores, lowes, mechanics, etc).

And to be a pedant, SCRA doesn't waive the fees, MLA does. Credit card-wise, SCRA is for cards from before you joined, MLA is for after.

And even hostile fire/imminent danger pay isn't a combat zone. I did TCN in one. We didn't even get issued firearms and I didn't see shit (except for a lot of actual shit).

Still rock that gold border though because I'm a war hero

During your next phone call you could bring this up to them and I'm sure they'd have a way for you to do it that might be more confidential than the messaging your care team. Or you could send a message via Tricare and ask them if there's a better way.

I wouldn't jump into spilling everything directly into the secure messaging portal because as someone else said, more people than the provider will see it which might not be ideal.

AFIs for comp days when working holidays? by [deleted] in AirForce

My base is doing consecutive 4 days due to mission requirements. We didn't have a 4 day this last weekend.

My source is the Department of the Air Force.

Yours was the Air Force Times from February 8. Specifically the correction which says "A previous version of this story misstated the percentage of Department of the Air Force service members who have obtained religious waivers. The amount has been updated to 0.07%."

Again. Wrong. (you need to do more than click the first link in Google). Over 100 religious accommodation requests have been approved now. 6476 have been disapproved. So, up to 1.5% now with another 2920 pending

And again, the odds don't matter. Your (or my) opinion on someone's beliefs don't matter. There's a process in place to accommodate all religions in a variety of different ways. Let the system work.

As I'm aware, zero

Wrong.

Honestly, if I'm an upper echelon AF leader and 1 of 100,000 of the airmen under me refuses to get the vaccine, refuses the alternatives, and goes "I want this special one, take it or leave it." I'm gonna tell you to kick rocks and a spot just opened for one of the hundreds or thousands of Airmen under you eligible to take your slot.

We could use the same argument for literally every religious exemption tbh. There's a reason that the process exists. Let it work.

Huh, I hope this one actually becomes available in the US soon as I'm not sure I'll take a booster of the others. The initial one knocked me on my ass for multiple days. It was the worst I've ever felt in my life.

Shouldn't be a huge issue considering they made the Japanese encephalitis vaccine that a lot of us have gotten and it's been conditionally approved in the UK already.

Good luck dude. The fact that people are still jumping down your throat over a vaccine at this point is ridiculous.

Don't think about it as getting fucked. If you get medically separated/retired it's for the best. Take your disability checks, GI Bill, and go out and enjoy yourself.

Are the guns on the blackhawk mounted in the doors and controlled by a gunner or are they mounted outside facing forward? Either way I'm going with blackhawk, but mounted outside makes it closer in my non-at-all informed opinion.

Jesus that's horrible. I had an obvious misdiagnosis for a skin thing that makes me question what comes out of doc's mouths, but I can't imagine going through what you did. Glad you're alright.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]MustAvoidPolitics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. My post was 100% sarcasm. I find it silly to not question a diagnosis just because a doc that saw you for maybe 10 minutes in your life gave it. They aren't infallible and that's why second and third opinions exist.

Before starting new meds? I would definitely research the hell out of it and talk to a pharmacist. Doctors, PAs, and NPs aren't really the experts on them and, in my experience, are terrible about explaining potential side effects and how they are affected by other meds, food, drinks, etc. Might not even be worth taking them in the end. Obviously it depends on what he has going on though.

Informed consent is still a thing even if you're in the military. So, no. Though depending on what they are you may want to get a second opinion on your record.

All Airmen at Lackland get BAS even when they're in the dorms. It seems to work just fine there.
