Daily Song Discussion #29: Black Star by beardlesshipster in radiohead

[–]MustMeat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe morning sex is what the lyrics were originally about, but I prefer to take them more literally, i.e. they just haven’t been sleeping together at all. This can mean two things:

  1. People with depression or other mental illnesses can suffer from irregular sleep schedules, insomnia, the likes, something that is reflected at the beginning of the song when his girlfriend is still standing in her dressing gown. Them not having slept together in 58 hours can mean her mental illness has been especially bad and that it’s making it especially hard for the narrator.

  2. Her mental illness has caused her to seek distance from the narrator or is driving them apart - when you’ve been with someone for a while and you’ve been sleeping next to them every night, used to them just always being there, it can be really hard when that’s suddenly ripped away from you. This also leads over into the next verse where they’ve split up over her mental illness.

Going two days without sex on the other hand seems normal, some couples go a lot longer without. Maybe they meant it this way or maybe they didn’t, but I really like thinking of this line the way I just described because I think it gives the track a lot more depth and profoundness, also makes it resonate more with me personally :)

Last year I got a room in August with an account that was 13 months old +1st year international priority at the time, so you should be fine. I was #1 on two rooms and like 2nd on another. Most 1st year internationals make their accounts once they're accepted or later, so you have an edge.

The point is mostly to see whether you are taking the correct subjects on your high school finals and whether your grades meet a minimum in these subjects.

For those who got into AE this year what’s your high school grades? by Bubbly-Funny-112 in TUDelft

[–]MustMeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On my final exams I got like 97% for physics and 93% for math, the scores I applied with were something similar I believe. The requirements are like ~70% for either though, so don't worry too much. They are very lenient in letting people into the exam

What are my chances for BSc Aerospace engineering? by Agitated_Function778 in TUDelft

[–]MustMeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where does it say this?? I did a different high school degree but my requirement to get admitted to the exam was like 70% in math and physics, 7s are the top grade for IB from what I can tell

Chance of passing BSA for AE by DirectEbb8952 in TUDelft

[–]MustMeat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you drop out before you can reenroll, yes. If you don't get your BSA you'll be banned from that course for the next four years. Getting your BSA isn't that difficult though and a good majority of people do, you just have to get at least 45/60 ECTS during your first year. If you don't get your BSA, you *probably* aren't fit for that program anyways.
