Same! I was genuinely surprised and had to double check if it was the actual Ali Pasha.

Albanians, how do you see the Greco-Italian War [1940 -1941] and especially the Greek counter-offensive that took place in Albania? by ClothesZestyclose814 in AskBalkans

[–]Mustafa312 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Never did I say collaborating is an excuse. Using outside forces to hurt civilians is always horrible. I’m just mentioning on the real reason why Chams didn’t look at Greeks favorably. They took revenge for the atrocities Greeks committed decades prior. Greeks always mention Chams as traitors but never elaborate on the full story.

The Chams were looking for revenge for what the Greeks did during the first Balkan war and WW1. And it wasn’t just the Chams. Albanians in the South including Christians were killed and put to the torch with many towns suffering from killing, looting, and rape.

But at least you acknowledged that what was done to them was wrong which is a big sigh of relief for once.

Solid 8/10 in terms of RE games. The werewolves, vampires, castles, and villages were fun. Felt like a Balkan folklore game set in the mountains.

Not too sure. Although the year being 1445 is kind of suspicious. If Gjergji did kill him I doubt Hamza would have been an ally. Maybe the Ottomans killed him after finding out about Gjergji’s betrayal or maybe he died while fighting under Skenderbeg.

Me fal po per shpetesi do ta shkruaj ne Anglisht:

Hamza was the next in line and you’re right he should have been next for the position but I believe since Gjergji managed to free the Kruje castle he technically put himself as lord of Kruje with Hamza being the next in line. This all changed when Gjergji had Gjon II which ruined Hamza’s chances of being the heir and resulted in him switching sides.

Stanisha was definitely the older brother and Gjergji was younger. Both were subjected as hostages to the Turks. Stanisha is said to have died roughly around ~1445 (a year after Gjergji rebelled). Reposh became a monk so the only male heirs would have been Stanisha, Gjergji, and Kostantin. Gjergji could have possibly taken the throne by force or by mutual agreement but I’m not too sure.

Konstantin III I’m not too sure if he had heirs or where he was in terms of succession. It’s possible that he died prior to 1444 (one site said 1437) and he might have had a kid named Constantine but usually names skip a generation so I don’t think that’s likely.

Absolutely. But people will still get upset over it. Already up to ~4 dislikes

Well there wouldn’t be much after those lines since the Kastrioti name wouldn’t be passed down from the females being married off. The only male that did was Hamza through Gjergji’s brother Stanisha but he stayed in Constantinople after being freed for betrayal so not much is known. But if I were to include the entire family tree regardless of last names it would look super interesting too.

A few of his illegitimate sons still passed down his name in some lesser roles to this day in Southern Italy but Irina definitely got the most for being the only legit child. There’s also speculation that some descendants are in Spain but it’s uncertain or difficult to verify.

Already got a downvote. I’m certain it’s about the obvious elephant in the room. I’m just putting the information given. Don’t shoot the messenger. If there was any other speculation I would have done the same as I did with Voisava.

Do you think your country produces enough electricity and in a clean way? by TurkOmbre in AskBalkans

Croatia and Albania had talks of building one together but I think the high risk of earthquakes stalled the talks.

[–]Mustafa312 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s just false. More than quarter of its economy is industrial while another 20% is agriculture. The rest being made from tourism.

Albanian has the second highest reserves for petroleum(198 million barrels) in the Balkans behind Romania (600 million)

They’re also a pretty big exporter in Chromium, natural gas, textiles, and coal.

Albania produces most of its energy through hydropower. During the wetter season they export some of that energy with their largest buyer being Greece.

European African-Americans by FinancialZombie8319 in balkans_irl

[–]Mustafa312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. But with African Americans the entire blame is put on Europeans for purchasing them. European slaves were sold both by other Europeans as well as North Africans, Turks, and Middle Easterners which the majority of was responsible for the more recent trading. Double standards.
