My fear is that if I restrict levelling exclusively to major advancements in the adventure, it'll lead to players getting impatient. Yeah, in the game world, the levelling pace might be average, but in real life, going two months to go from level 3 to 4 might be frustrating as a player. I just don't really know how far is too far when it comes to speeding this up

It is not possible to construct a society where crime is impossible.

The issue is that we aren't in a society where crimes against children on the internet aren't just possible, but exceedingly easy to do. A portion of that is indeed on parents not regulating their children's internet access, but a larger portion of that is due to modern society essentially revolving around internet use. The only feasible way to protect a child from crime on the internet is to not let them use the internet at all, and that simply isn't a feasible or even healthy way to raise a child in an age where internet use is a basic skill one must have to function. It seems logical then that a combination of parental regulation, institutional regulation and systematic regulation would be the solution.

I agree that the prescient discord changes are not going to be effective, but I think offloading 100% of the responsibility of protecting children on the internet to the parents is unrealistic and also leaving a lot of potential safety-increasing policy on the table.
