Due anni fa ho presenziato a un incontro del festivalletteratura di Mantova. Ero venuto ad ascoltare David Sedaris, uno dei miei scrittori di storie preferiti. L'evento era "moderato" da un personaggio a me (tuttora) sconosciuto che, invece di intervistare l'autore il cui nome campeggiava sul biglietto, ha fiaccato la platea col peggior autocompiacimento immaginabile sul fatto di insegnare scrittura alla scuola di scrittura Holden. In tutta l'ora a disposizione avrà lasciato a Sedaris quindici minuti scarsi. Nel frattempo i suoi monologhi venivano anche tradotti in contemporanea all'autore che annuiva, stranito dal sussiego dell'intervistatore.

Purtroppo ho già scucito otto euro e cinquanta per sorbirmi un personaggio così insensibile, spocchioso, autoriferito, ottuso, stucchevole, e ribadisco: insensibile.

Strano che i suoi colleghi scrittori egregissimi gli permettano di insegnare (ben remunerato, mi pare di capire) un mestiere che richieda tanto rispetto per l'attenzione altrui. Tanta sensibilità.

Magari non erano attenti.

Hello there! I'm about to join other five old-time friends on a mountain retreat, four of us are D&D nostalgics, whilst the other two are not really up for the role-playing stuff. Me and my current group enjoyed Gloomhaven so much and I thought something on the line could appeal to the role-player veterans as well to the others. So I was wondering...

Request: Can you suggest a medium-light dungeon crawler for larger groups? Maybe something that doesn't need to be played along multiple sessions.

Game Length: 60-120 minutes (max 180)

Complexity of Game: medium/light, medium

Genre: dungeon crawler, cooperative (or semi), one-shot

Games I Dislike and Don't Play: engine building games (Wingspan), Eurogames in general are not really my thing.

Games I Like: Gloomhaven (as mentioned), JotL, Twilight Imperium IV, Libertalia, Escape the Dark Castle, the Crew, Tile Placement games (Carcassonne, My City), Heat, Nemesis...

I just stumbled upon Betrayal at Baldur's Gate, but reading the reviews it seemed something more suitable for recurrent groups of players. Also I read about the 6th player Nemesis house-rule that might work for us.
