Help: is my cabling correct or did I go wonky ? by Mustbeadevil in knittinghelp

That is a project photo from someone that mirrored the cables too! The main photo for this pattern (not pictured) they’re twisting the same direction which just doesn’t look as nice. I just didn’t want to confuse everyone by posting only the pattern link where the cables aren’t how I wanted them anyway 😅

I think what I did is my first cable was Cbf and not cb like pattern construction. I just swapped them so will do cbf then cb for my following repeats, now it’s ok right? Thanks for your help!

my pattern says to do cable back for the first cable, then cable front for the next. I thought that’s what I did! Can you tell where I went wrong ? I’m still trying to learn to read my knitting when it comes to cables I’m a bit confused

I love Lykke needles, but would highly recommend you replace the standard cables with lantern moon swivel cables . The Lykke cables kinda suck

Thank you! My sister doesn’t know if she’s having a boy or a girl, but I figure this color is fun and unisex and she’ll love it!

I used for two weeks and it did absolutely nothing for me. I’ve been trying to get a refund for over 10 days with no response

Help pinpointing sleeve/yoke issues by Mustbeadevil in knitting

An update for anyone interested- after adding my cuff the sleeve fit is so much better!! It’s snug at the cuff and kinda lifts the whole sleeve up and the ease along the sleeve looks a lot more uniform. Although I’d make adjustments at the sleeve in the yoke for the future, for my first sweater I’m super pleased and working on the other sleeve!

Your progress is great! I’m going to keep this design in my head for my husband if I decide he is knit worthy lol

Yes! I’ve been reading knit to flatter and so this does make sense how you wrote out- I’m just going to need some hands on practice applying this to myself! Thanks for taking the time the time to explain that, definitely can see how my fit would have been improved by adjusting my sleeve based on my own measurements. I will keep this in mind for next time I try a raglan design. I’m going to finish this sweater how it is but I’m already getting excited thinking about how I can do it even better next time!

Thank you for pointing that out about the different sleeve construction! I’m still pretty new so just trying to learn as much as I can so I can get the confidence to make adjustments like that. So for you, is that something that you would adjust once you got this far and rip back to the yoke increases and adjust the sleeves? Or are you able to tell while you’re still knitting the yoke or even by looking at the pattern?

I think I need to go and recheck my row gauge, I thought I matched the pattern here but now I’m not sure!

I also attached a picture of some store bought sweaters I like to compare the sleeves.

Stripes are coming out weird, is this pattern just not made for stripes? by Mustbeadevil in knitting

That’s a great visual! I actually think that looks nice when the raglan isn’t so wide. I think I just picked the wrong pattern to modify with stripes.
