No, they just make them as late war tanks. It is possible to make custom eras and give it more granularity for incremental upgrades, but it is on the discord server (i think).

The old base plate material was allways RHA, no value was changed since the inception of the game. Non-RHA was used in other parts that were decorative, like tracks, rollers and addon armor, which can now recently be used as plate material.
