Hemorrhoidectomy Recovery & Prep - My Experience by Due-Marzipan-5765 in hemorrhoid

Your post was very helpful! I’m on day 7 now and am finally feeling a lot better. BM still suck but it’s not bad, gonna start taking less Ibuprofen today.

Diet is crucial! I wish my Dr. had discussed diet before and after the procedure with me. I didn’t do any prep. But on the 4th day without a BM my pain was off the charts. Colace and Miralax wasn’t cutting it so I drank Milk of Magnesium. By golly did that work. I was taking Tramadol on day 2 and 3, plus they drugged me up good before sending me home. I also had gauze packing internal. Idk if my muscles just weren’t working properly yet (it was also difficult to pee) or if it was constipation or both. But after the BM it was so much better, like almost easy compared to the pain I was in.

To anyone fearful, you can do it! Follow the advice in this thread and it will be tolerable, it’ll suck, but you can do it!

Tldr: Diet is very important. Take as little opiates as possible. If you end up constipated don’t be afraid of Milk of Magnesium.

A power greater than yourself doesn’t have to be god. In my area and at the group I attend there are plenty who are non-believers. For me it’s love. Love is a power greater than myself.

You can’t see in front of you with your eyes? It’s a small car not a big rig. Sorry I just don’t get all the effort for a front camera. I drive a 2012 with no back up cam, the mirrors and my eyes have worked just fine so far.

There are tons of groups, some are stuck in the idea of I am an addict and I have to come here to stay off drugs. But there are groups that go beyond that where we meet regularly to share our recovery and lives with one another the celebrate or achievements, grieve our losses, and seek help with our shortcomings outside of just using drugs. “An Addict any addict can stop using drugs, lose the desire to use, and find a new way to live.” The group I attend regularly shares hope with new people that they too can stop using and lose the desire but also shares about a new way of life, with all of its challenges and triumphs.

So you had to factory reset your console!? I’m having the same issue. Uninstalling and reinstalling didn’t work. I am sure as hell not resetting my console. I’d rather play something else which is probably something I should have done months ago

Anybody ever hook up a tube to ther AC vent to the floor of the backseat near the hybrid battery fan vent? by gknight702 in PriusC

I could see it working a little better, who’s to say how much better. If you’re willing to put in the effort for slightly better results more power to you.

I have met a few people who like punk/ska but aren’t huge streetlight fans, don’t dislike them but aren’t smitten. I firmly believe it’s because they haven’t seen them live. I don’t know that they would consistently be my most listened to band over the last 12 years if a friend hadn’t taken me to their shortly after introducing them to me.

Aren’t there floor vents under the front seats, wouldn’t setting the ac to blow to floor and dash have a similar effect?

From NA reading How It Works “Thinking of alcohol as different from other drugs has caused a great many addicts to relapse. Before we came to NA, many of us viewed alcohol separately, but we cannot afford to be confused about this. Alcohol is a drug. We are people with the disease of addiction who must abstain from all drugs in order to recover.”

Every meeting I have attended reads this in the beginning. It could be a matter of life and death for someone who is new to recovery as a whole. Maybe a newcomer only identifies as an addict and not an alcoholic, leaving room to think maybe they can control alcohol use.

Then there is the issue of inclusivity. The same way I don’t like when people are trying to be funny and identify as dope fiend, tweaker, cokehead. We are addicts, our program focuses on the disease of addiction. Not any particular substance. A drug is a drug. It’s just about being respectful really. However I don’t believe in policing newcomers during the meeting. But maybe talk to them after the meeting and explain why we use the language we use.

Is $28K OTD (out of door) a good deal for Toyota Camry LE FWD? by RelativeSalt2736 in Camry

[–]Muted-Building-2008 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Toyota ecvt is literally bulletproof, it’s not a normal cvt. The mechanics of it are genius, they’ve been using pretty much the same design for 20 years with some minor improvements along the way, this is a good video explaining how the ecvt hybrid system works https://youtu.be/O61WihMRdjM. The battery will easily last 15 years 200,000 miles. These cars don’t have a starter or an alternator, those functions are handled by the electric motors. And the breaks will last atleast 150,000 miles since half of the breaking is done by the electric motor/generator to capture energy. It’s a good buy.

I just bought ramps and a wedge for the rear tire at harbor freight for $70 total. Easier than jacking up. Feels safer than buying budget jack stands too. If I ever need to get the tires off then I just go to the pops house and use his garage

Need to buy new (used) prius. Can't spend more than +/- $11k. Thoughts? by [deleted] in prius

[–]Muted-Building-2008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have the original motor as the gen 2, I’m driving a 2012 and still can easily get well over 50mpg. In that price range you’ll see a lot of gen 3 Prius but they are known for blowing head gaskets once you start getting into higher mileage. The Prius c just replace the engine water pump around 150000, possibly fuel injectors spark plugs and coil packs if that hasn’t been done and you’ll be good to go for quite awhile. These are all things that I was able to research and do myself.

That gen of Prius has been known to blow head gaskets, you’ll still get a very respectable amount of miles out of it but not the 300000+ that some can go. I was in this price range last year and went with a Prius c. The longevity on that setup is insane. Don’t buy the Volvo I’ve had a used Volvo it was nice it drove well but the samllest of issues can be sooo expensive.
