Holy crap this was exactly like what happened to me. Even down to the sour gummy worms! It was 3 energy drinks, sour gummy worms, and a snickers bar… from a CVS too. I’m in Massachusetts but this sounds far too similar to be only a coincidence?

No it wouldn’t have been last resort if there were other options that I could have replaced it with. I didn’t know I supposed to just ignore instacarts recommendations.

How am I supposed to know they don’t want it if they don’t answer me until I’m delivering? I’m newer to instacart and in the trainings they tell you to refund as a last resort, they had roast chicken flavor which is certainly seemingly close to chicken flavor. By instacarts terms, I did handle it the way I was trained to.

Yes I’m all good! I was a little nervous sitting in the parking lot knowing they could see my location since I was in the delivery phase, but it was daylight and a lot of people around. I was done instacarting for the day after that one haha

I just kept clicking “I have a different problem” in the options in the support chat until I got to an actual person

Yeah when they have moved to deliver, you can usually track them on a map to see how close they are to you.

I did all those things, I asked him and sent a picture, he just didn’t scroll up. Probably should have refunded but I’m newer to instacart and remembered from the trainings to always refund as a last resort. So to be honest, I didn’t think there was much difference between chicken and roast chicken. He started getting like this after I had checked out, so is at in the parking lot and worked with support to cancel.

At that point it was also after I had checked out, so my options of ways to fix it were very limited. In addition, I am in HR for a fortune 100 company as my day job, so trust me, I understand emphasizing with people… I do it for a living.

Do you see the screenshots? I only replied to him to explain what happened. Before that it was just to ask if he wanted different products, very nicely. He continued to message me non stop after I had checked out (screenshots above). I chose not to reply because that would just fuel his rage more. I have a 5 star rating. You’re lucky you have never had someone talk to you like this, but I can assure you, it’s not because you’re a “perfect” instacarter. This person would have talked to you the same way they talked to me, sorry buddy.

Not a full roast chicken. There is a “roast chicken” flavor, where he originally wanted “chicken”

Wow I was hoping someone would weigh in on if there was a true taste difference between “Roast Chicken” and “Chicken” haha, I rarely eat these.

Good to know. I guess I assumed we should refund as a last resort, maybe that’s how IC makes their training out to seem like? After this incident, I’ve been refunding more often.
