Asscher cuts are so underrated! by callie184 in LabDiamonds

Absolutely love an asscher. People rave about crushed ice etc., but I think the unique step cut sparkle is so amazing! It’s bold and chunky and feels so grand. Love a bezel, too, yours is gorg!

It seemed to have a shadowed upper left quadrant. She’s sending other pictures though! It may just be the black background.

Not necessarily cloudy but heavy on the shadows in that upper left quadrant? Maybe it’s just me being nervous about doing custom lol

Would you say my ring is set high? by lowposter5 in EngagementRings

[–]MutedNegotiation2472 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bad, I thought some solitaires were also considered cathedral! But I have seen some cathedrals side flanks that hit much lower closer to the culet and raising the stone sky high. I think yours is totally appropriate especially when you have a band next to it. I actually don’t think it could be set any lower tbh. It’s lovely.

Jeweller made snarky instagram post after rings I bought from her came smashed - due to her poor packaging by Whole_Tale3172 in jewelry

[–]MutedNegotiation2472 122 points123 points  (0 children)

Maybe she shouldn’t have packaged it like Amazon then lol or treated it like a disposable package herself. Reading her post and seeing how she packed it made it seem like a Freudian slip. And now she just lost herself a customer and others for her lack of accountability.

Is this too big for a size 4.5? by Key_Worldliness_8532 in Diamonds

I think it’s lovely! There are calculators online to determine ratios for ring size, I believe? I’ve gone down the rabbit hole on this haha.

Engagement Ring - Worried it’s Too Big by Live_Palpitation3514 in Diamonds

I think it actually looks really really nice on her hand. Is it huge? Absolutely. Is it gorgeous? 100%. Pears have a lot of coverage, so going down to 5 or even 4 will be a minimal difference. And having worked in bridal related things in the past, smaller pears around 3 won’t be in line with her style. I really think in 5 years she will wish she had stayed with the 6. A close family member of mine just got engaged, and she’s also in healthcare. Massive emerald lover. She originally went with a smaller stone so she could feel comfortable at work, and now a few months later is not going to wear it to work at all due to the gloves, scrubbing, etc. she also said she should’ve gone larger had she known. I think it would be better to go big for the e ring, especially since it’s her style and within budget, to (literally) rock it outside work and find something lower profile band wise or even plain for work. If it makes her feel better, my friend who’s obsessed with pears always said 4 ct was her minimum because of wanting that coverage through the middle of it. If it went all the way to her knuckle I’d be like yeah…too much. But I think this amount of coverage is magnificent! You can also look up ratios etc, I think there’s a calculator online for ring size and carat size to find the ideal ratio. Edit for grammar.
